Could my phones laser health scanner be repourses into a optical mouse

This sound spoke a super crazy idea but I have the galaxy s7 edge and it has a red health sensor I was wondering if I could use this scanner to be like a mouse for my pc just wondering if it is even possible

I don't know the form and function of the scanner thing but if you really wanted you could probably print a special pattern and use the camera to track motion using it. That would actually be similar to the first laser mouse I ever used.
