WHAT? Region Free patch and language emulation are different things
Language emulation still doesn't auto translate games and region free patch doesn't exactly allow you to run games that require a certain region console to run them otherwise there would be no reason to even have language emulation in a cfw if there already is a region free patch that does that.

Region Free patch permits one to run out-of-region games, but some games requires a specific language (not a certain region console, cause almost all of then requires a specifc region, with exception of most VC games and quite few 3DSWare titles, and this is patched using a Region Free patch) and this requirement makes then don't run even with region-free patch.

Language emulation can be used these ways:
  1. It allows these games that requires a specific language to run in out-of-region consoles (as long region-free patch is being used alongside with it);
  2. It allows to run multilingual games that gets the language from the console to run in a specific and wanted language ;
  3. It allows to DLCs for foreign games to load.

Fourth time exiting out of Configuration is when it magically turns on step-through. Still did it with only top splash, and with no splash (doesn't with splash off and logging on, entered/exited config over 20 times).

Maybe if you find this does happen for other people, and it isn't just my skeith install that's borked, you could just set some sort of reboot variable thing (on config exit, sets CFW to load and reboots, once CFW's loaded, unset menu loading; separate from autoboot setting, sort of a run once thing). It would probably be a quick, hacky way to take care of the problem...? The bizarre part is the no logging. :c Maybe someone else can test it real quick, and see if other o3dses respond similarly (system starts up just fine after reboot, and it has the settings from before).

No, this is in all likelyhood a bug

Can someone help me with language emulation? I don't understand how to do it. I'm currently trying to translate Miitopia into English. I turned on the option to enable language emulation.

It doesn't work like that, language emulation just allows you to run games that aren't region free on your systems

@Svaethier, you're thinking of the region free patch. Language emulation fakes the console's region and country. @DestructiveSword, is Miitopia one of those games that fails to work properly without region emulation? Either way, I admit documentation is lacking. Create a file at <prefix>/share/locale/emu/<titleID> and put "JPN JA" in it or whatever.

And remember; games don't translate themselves. I'm assuming you mean you're hacking on it to get it to work in english. Changing the region/country isn't a magic bullet.

Properly configure it as per the README, I guess? Also, use the URLs for the 11.2 FIRMs. You can find it in previous commits of the README.

Are you using the NATIVE_FIRM from the github? If you are, it's because the ones provided are now on 11.3. You will need to download the 11.2 firmware files.

Okay, so after downloading the correct NATIVE_FIRM, a new error showed. I removed my slot0x11key96.bin, and then the error doesn't show anymore. But after selecting Boot Firmware the screens just go black. So how can i get slot0x11key96.bin (if the error is being caused by slot0x11key96.bin)?
Sorry if this is something really stupid by me.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Okay I found a different slot0x11key96.bin and now everything works. Thanks for the help! Sorry for the questions.

Is there any way you can implement a feature that allows Luma plugins? I have a randomized Pokemon Sun, but every time I want to play it, I need to switch to Luma.

Luma plugins?
If that is refereed to code redirection, corbenik does that, If it's the ips patch stuff, you can use a software that comes with corbenik to convert it to pco to use with this CFW

What I'm meaning is that, if you put a folder named the title key inside the luma folder, it would load the plugin inside that folder when you enter the game.

Luma has no "plugins". Not as far as I'm aware.

It does. It's called "Game Patching".
That has nothing to with the CFW itself. It's something that is done separately. corbenik does have A9LH payload opinions and does have some game patching built in, like removing outlines in Pokémon S/M

    I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

    I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.

    I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length

    All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

    On the go tho I meant, I use my 10" tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes. Easier on my eyes than the Switch screen.

    My point is we already have enough shit with big displays having something pocketable with up to ps2 would be fine on the go
