Hi there...

I am having a problem with getting the new DLC for Breath of the Wild to install and I could use some pointers..

Firstly I modded my Wii U by following this guide:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/mattkimuras-wii-u-hacking-guide.462121/

Everything so far seems to work well and I have the console set up for CBHC.
I downloaded the DLC using Wii U USC Helper and I have had several attempts at installing with the following results:

1. Booting Mocha CFW and then starting WUP Installer GX2 from the Homebrew Menu:

Every time the install fails with the error message:

“INSTALL FAILED. CONFIRM COMPLETE WUP FILES ARE IN THE FOLDER”

In fact I found that it seems that trying to install anything while running on Mocha and launching WUP Installer GX2 from the Homebrew Menu fails with the same error.
However it works fine if not running on Mocha… except of course you cannot install the DLC unless you are running CFW.

2. Booting Mocha CFW and starting WUP Installer GX2 installed on a channel

This appears to install the DLC correctly as you can watch the progress of WUP Installer GX2 and when it finishes it says it was successfully installed.
However, the DLC does not appear in the game?

Yes, I am starting the game after booting into Mocha CFW but still nothing?

Can anyone help me out with why this is not working or what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Are you installing the game to a NAND or a USB HDD? Did you run the update first and then the DLC? The DLC will not work without 1.3.0 update.

Hi and thanks for the response. I already have the game and all updates installed on USB HDD and working well.

Trying to also install DLC to USB HDD but so far no luck in getting the DLC to show up in the game.

Can I just confirm what option I should be selecting from the CBHC boot menu?

I am selecting option 3 to load Mocha CFW before installing the DLC and same again to play the game.... correct?

If you have CBHC setup with the default to system menu then you are already in HaxChi CFW. Don't use CBHC with Mocha. Even the author recommends against it. It's not needed. You're using one CFW to boot to a second CFW. You don't need Mocha with CBHC or HaxChi.

Thanks....!!

I was wondering if I was running one CFW ontop of another.....doh!

Will try installing again by booting from option 1...

Hi! Been away for a few days so only just tried this out again.

OK, I did the following:
  1. From HXCB select option 1 - Boot from System Menu
  2. Launch the Homebrew Channel from channel
  3. Using WUP Installer GX2: Installed 1.3 update alone via Game correctly shows update to 1.3 after done.
  4. Says successful after install.
  5. Go into game and there is no DLC content?
I also tried the following:
  1. From HXCB select option 1 - Boot from System Menu
  2. Launch WUP Installer GX2 from channel
  3. Install 1.3 update alone. Game correctly shows update to 1.3 after done.
  4. Install BOTW DLC. Says successful after install.
  5. Go into game and there is no DLC content?

So… still no joy… would really appreciate some insight into what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks!

Well this is odd…..

I now have two different copies of BOTW installed – both on USB.

The one that installed first is not seeing the DLC.

However, the newer install is seeing the DLC.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get both installs to see the DLC?

Why not just deleting the first install? Problem solved?!

The first one has all the game progress and I cannot find anyway to transfer this to the second installation.

What would happen if I delete the second install - would the first install then see the DLC?

What I would do:
-Use Saviine to backup your save.
-Delete both install to start on a clean slate.
-Re-install the game, the 1.3.0 update and the DLC
-Play the game a bit to create a gamesave, then re-inject you old gamesave into it.

I just watched a video on Saviine and it seems simple enough! Thanks for your suggestion - I guess this is the best way to go.

Thanks again!

I recognize I'm necroing this thread, but I was having the same problem, and figured something out in my case that may help others.

I, too, had the problem of trying to update the DLC installed it as part of a separate game, and I couldn't figure out why. The Wii U was set up by someone else, and I inherited it. It turns out, the person who set up the Wii U had installed the EUR region version, even though the Wii U is USA region. When I tried to update the DLC with the USA region DLC, it had a different title ticket, and thus installed as a different game.

So, if anyone else has this problem (installing updates creates a second copy of the game) you might check to make sure the regions match. The way I did that was to use Saviine to dump the saves, and it saves the dumped files under a folder named with the game's title ticket number, and you can look that up to see what game and region it represents.

I'm having the dlc issue of confirm wup files are in the folder. They are in the folder.
So if I just purchase the 20 dcl will it apply to the game i got from usbhelper?
