Hacking Brand new Wii U — I want to install HackMii, don't want to wreck it.

Just forked out $500 for a Wii U and I don't want to wreck it. However, I have a heap of Wii games that I want to put on my Portable HDD.

I'm not going through the trouble of using an exploit when WiiBrew clearly states that HackMii can be installed. I can't find any tutorials.

I'm on a very low income and I would be devastated to screw my Wii U up so if anyone could just give me some advice, or link me to a guide on how I can install HackMii onto my vWii I'd appreciate it. Tell me anything that I need to be cautious about, as well, and what my risks are.

the minimum wiiu price here is around $450. eb games have cheap ones

Well, I have a Wii U hacked with the Lego Bathaxx hack, I used this because in my country the game was the most cheapest of the exploits, it costs only $30 dollars (very cheap for my country) so i used it and now I have vWii hacked, you can do a lot of similar things like you can do in the original Wii, like running GameCube games, backuping your NAND, games, etc.

Since I live in Sweden, where the taxes are (probably) the highest in the world, I thought that we at least were in the same ballpark, but I bought my Zelda WW WiiU for 420$AUS which is what they seem to go for here...

You didn't follow all the links at that Wiibrew link you posted, if you did you would have ended up at this site - http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/WiiMode. So yes, you need one of the official retail Wii games to do the exploit.
