I'm interested in seeing some real, scientific tests on the 3ds battery life.
For instance how much life do you get when everything is disabled, and then, approximately how much the battery life is affected by each individual feature.

I have especially heard lots of conflicting reports about the 3d, with some people saying it has no effect on battery life, but others saying it causes the battery to drain faster.

The 3D affects the battery life a lot, I'm afraid.

I can't give you exact estimates, but I've gotten about 7 hours of play time with this bad boy. I have been randomly alternating between 2D and 3D, though.

Well, with my 3DS I could play with it for a 12 hours period. Meaning playing about 1 hour, then take 1 hour to rest and so on...

So my battery life would last around 6 hours.

My settings -

Brightness: 2

Power save mode: ON

Wireless: ON/OFF from time to time...

3D: Half way up or completely disabled

I'm surprised. I thought that the 3DS would have horrible battery life, but those stats were given for things like max volume, max 3D, and max brightness. I don't do any of those things, so I get a surprisingly long gaming session. My battery hasn't dipped to 2 bars yet.
