why does it make sense to *hope* nintendo goes after any flash kit maker? that is a stupid statement posted based on some bullshit information about a firmware release that will never happen! the r4 team stopped producing the kits a few months back. there will be no updates on sept 15th, unless its a bogus hacked faked firmware designed to do what the original post stated. this whole topic is a waste of time.

all i hope is that it gets removed.

For those taking microscopes to their R4s looking for differences between fake and real, two things:

1) Real R4s have changed quite a bit over the revisions. Some were top loading, some are side loading, etc.
2) All flash carts are made in a little factory in China. I doubt the QC is as strict as it would be on, say, a real NDS cart. So the thickness of the card logo, for example, may vary from different batches of real carts, too.

Remember EVERY flash cart is an unauthorized copy of a real NDS cartridge shell and you are taking a risk by using any of them. So just play your games and wait and see what happens with the update.

1) Real R4s have changed quite a bit over the revisions. Some were top loading, some are side loading, etc.

both generations of the r4 (IE: version 1 spring loaded, and version 2 non spring loaded black shell only) were top loading msd. there is no side loading msd r4.

this is interesting... will see what happens- chances are, not much.

although if it is official, and they would take THIS long to work on an update... then it's worth the wait- just to SEE whats in the new one.

if it comes out, I'll be smart and wait for others to try it first. I'm actually happy with 1.18.

There is no solid evidence, only rumours and a supposed email that could have come from anyone, anywhere at anytime.

The original R4DS was said to be duplicated and clones were made.

But this is not to say that any new release is dodgy!

If you have one of those that are listed above, then I would say it is probably genuine?

When you study the 3 sites they do make sense, as on-going development continues and kernel up-dates that fix incremental game problems.

Logically SDHD access would be the next step, but I cannot reason the change from R4-SDHD to R4-III-Upgrade.



So I will repeat my conclusion...

If you have one of those that are listed above, then I would say it is probably genuine?

man... I have yet to even use my R4, I still use my M3 Simply though which is basically the same thing. Hopefully it isn't entirely dead like they say, but it more than likely is.
