Hacking AK2i update for 3DS2.0 and DSI1.4.2

it's a 12 dollar card with no advertised upgradable feature.

let me repeat that for you complaining HW44 people:

THE FACT YOU CAN FLASH THIS CARTRIDGE TO MAKE IT KEEP WORKING ON NEW FIRMWARES IS NOT EVEN ADVERTISED AS A FEATURE FOR THE ACEKARD

i love it, i'm glad they came through on their "waiting until the 3DS update to make sure what we've done for 1.4.2 and 3DS will still work" method. worth the wait.

I had the auto-cancel issue, so I just blew into the card and MicroSD slot and it worked.

I like the new icon, and the "oh noez japanese icon in mah logs" people can stop worrying now. Chess is a game people will play for hours at a time.

Only got a DSi here, but since my DSTwo, R4i Gold, and AK2i are all now updated I might as well update to 1.4.2.

Every time I try to run the update on my DSi it loads saying the update was cancelled.

Sounds like the same issue you had Rydian, but I've tried blowing in the slots a couple times and nothing has changed for me.

Then ask them to change that for:

And of course, its also advertised HW44 work with last update when its false.

Sounds like the same issue you had Rydian, but I've tried blowing in the slots a couple times and nothing has changed for me.

Make sure you're not holding ANY buttons at all (nor the D-pad) after you press A to run the update file from within AKAIO.

If that still doesn't do it, back up your MicroSD, format it, and install a clean copy of AKAIO 1.8.7 and the update file, nothing else.

If that still doesn't do it, back up your MicroSD, format it, and install a clean copy of AKAIO 1.8.7 and the update file, nothing else.

Fortunately a family member has a DSL so I was able to use that to update without any problems. It's a workaround, but it works. Thanks for the help regardless.

Try putting the update file in a folder, not in the root folder.

I updated from my 3DS using the DSi file and it updated successfully

I put the update file inside my games folder and it didn't work.

I then tried to copy the update file to a different folder and root and both ways worked!

Updated by a dsi and apeared the chessmaster logo, but when i try to put on my 3ds its still doesn't working and with AK2 logo... I'm a 44's, what do i do to have my falshcart working? does any patch has been released for us???

I've made the acekard flash, on my 3DS, despite the "update was cancelled" bug.

First, there is a minor bug where, once the dsi version updater launches, it immediately thinks you clicked a button other than start, causing it to cancel the update.

All you have to do to make it work is continuously press start while the updater is launching.

I accidentally selected the "update another flashcart" option and then panicked and turned it off. I know Im an idiot and it's my fault, the Acekard2i wont even show anything anymore on the boot screen of DS lite or 3ds. It lets me select it, but it just boots to a white screen.

Is it screwed?

How are you guys updating the acekard "from" your 3DS? My acekard won't boot on my 3DS so I can't run any update files from it
