Activision claims that they have more remasters to announce this year

Although Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV are skipping 2021, that doesn't mean Activision doesn't have plans to release plenty of new games this year. Also stated during their recent fiscal report was the fact that more remasters are on the way. Throughout the past few years, Activision has released remasters of older game series such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Tony Hawk, and 2021 will continue that trend, with "more remastered content" to be announced before the end of the new fiscal year. Supposedly, following a merger with Vicarious Visions, which has handled multiple remaster projects for the company, a Diablo II remake is in the works, though it has not been officially confirmed yet.

call of duty modern warfare remaster remastered.

thats what im talking about.
Dammit I came in here to say exactly this

But yeah, I can't really think of anything actually good that Activision owns that would make a good remaster TBH, so whatever they end up shitting out will probably be...shit.

Tony Hawk 3+4. Tony Hawk Underground 1+2. Tony Hawk American Wasteland. Anything EXCEPT Project 8, Ride and Shred.

I don't mind remasters of my childhood games. Brings back great memories.

Now if Sony would remake the Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper series. Still waiting for Sly Cooper 5 as 4 ended with a cliffhanger.

I would be overjoyed by TH Underground remasters. Although I'd be equally excited for...hmmm...uhh...okay not that much, actually. Unless they wanted to remaster old Guitar Hero games and not screw up all the music licensing, which I can't see happening.

I don't fully expect them to announce any more Tony Hawk remasters - not necessarily because of the Vicarious merger, moreso because I'd expect them to carry on the momentum of 1+2 with a fully new game.

They could call it Tony Hawk Mania, and disown the bad numeric sequel from years ago... wouldn't be the first time a franchise has done that :creep:

That Diablo II remaster is likely, too. Wouldn't be surprised to see a COD one of some sort, too.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
