So I got this bad boy right here

3ds.jpg

and I've flashed it and modded 2 of my friends 3DS with it.
Took a bit, but they both eventually read the card fine.

Now I've got 2 other 3DS here, and well, it won't read, period.
I put the card in my 3ds and it recognizes it just fine.

It's baffling and it's giving me a headache.

Am I missing something?
Anywho the 2 3DS in question are:

Old 3DS XL - 11.5
NEW 3DS XL - 11.6

The two I recently modded were :
Old 3DS -11.6
Old 3DS 11.5

Not sure what happened or what is going on, has anyone run into this?
Maybe just reflash to it's stock, and try again?

Anyone?
This is driving me nuts, I can't find a viable reason why it wouldn't be read.
My friends old 3DS...es. Were from the first wave of Regular sized and XL models.
Maybe thats it? Maybe certain builds from then on block the Action Replay DSI?
I mean, in my experience the AR DSI has to be READ from the DS to boot the exploit right?

There nothing in the slot. So just keep on trying it will work eventually.
sorry to bother, so when you put your action replay in , it DIDNT show up on the main screen at all right? Just a "There is no card in the game slot" right?

Anycase, It's just strange because some of the DS I've used CAN read it and others can't

I wiggled it around until the there is no card in game slot dissapered then shut it down and did it. It really was trial and error though. None of my 3ds can read it.

Disappeared? like the message ? So it did ..read it?
Like the 3DS I have that can my DSI comes up as a blank NDS cart, and it just has a white screen when I try to run it.
The 3DS that can't read it always have that "There is nothing inserted into the Game Cart slot " message. So you just messed with it until it read?
Also, did you name your files NTRboot or just boot.firm? NTRboot worked in the past, but who the hell knows at this point trying to get this to work on other DS

Thanks for the help too man

You can put a paper behind the pcb to make it read more reliably.
Acekards have sometimes similar problems.
But be glad you could flash your ARDSi at all, my ARDS is so deprecated, Datel released two hw revisions and the first one that I have only connects on Windows XP, the latest version 1.55 is only downloadable via wayback machine and I had to change the header via the ARDS Flashtool to make it install the modded firmware.
NTRBoot worked first try on this card btw.

Ntrboot.firm
Then once it's flashed you have to rename it to boot.firm

And yeah just wiggle it around. I put a normal ds game in the slot until I heard the click then removed it and replaced it with the ards too. That worked.

Ok this seems pretty helpful. I've been struggling to get this to work. So what is the best way to make sure the 3ds can read the dsi ar cart? I'm on a new 3ds, that is bootrom level bricked. So I can't get confirmation if I'm getting it in the slot correctly.

Thanks, been trying to get the DS to read it, but just no avail.
Yet I'll put it in the modded DS and it will read no problem.
No idea what it could be.
Did Nintendo block the DSi some how?

ugh.

iirc it wouldn't read regardless have you tried all instructions w/ the magnet/button combo thing is ntrboothax gets read first on power up assuming you used the magnet to trip the sleep sensor (just use the sleep switch on o2ds) hold in the button combo (as described by 3ds.guide) and power on while using the combo and b9s installer should boot up

UPDATE
By hook or by crook, the New 3DS got through some how.
All modded and good to go.
Now this Old 3DS is still giving me the same issue, but it's good to see that you DONT need it to read the AR.
It's just dumb luck, but hell, this is taking a long freaking time.

So notes to any other people looking and what my situation was:

I HAD A BLACK LABEL DSI AND FLASHED VIA PATCHED CODE MANAGER .
I HAD A COUPLE 3DS THAT COULD READ IT SOME HOW , THOSE GOT HACKED FIRST TRY WITH MAGNET COMBO.
I HAD A COUPLE 3DS THAT COULDNT READ THE DSI ON THE MAIN HOME SCREEN. THOSE APPARENTLY TAKE LONGER TO GET THE BUTTON COMBO TO WORK.
IT WILL WORK THOUGH. IT JUST MAY TAKE A LONG FKN TIME.

That's about it.

Thanks to all who helped.!!!!!!

Especially Toady231!!!

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
