how can i know if i bought a modded 3ds xl or a regular one?

i'm sorry i'm literally so dumb and know absolutely nothing about the 3ds xl or modding in general, i've never even had a 3ds before.

i finally bought one after wanting one for years and they sold it as a modded one. but when i opened the 3ds xl it only shows me a few random games, but it doesn't give me any signs that it's a modded console.

is there any way i can check? again i'm so sorry for being so ignorant on the topic, i definitely plan on reading the modded 3ds guides i found online, i just haven't yet bc it just got here. thank you for the help <3

Well there are a few different ways. Try pressying L D-pad down and select on the home screen. That should bring up the Luma 3ds menu if its running a build from the past few years.
