Maybe this isn't the place to post this, but I digress. I've been banned from the Nintendo Network and I have no clue why. The only thing I can think is that I bought Mario Odyssey through PayPal and accidentally disputed the charge. I've since canceled the dispute, but this was several days ago and I didn't get 'suspended' until today. I don't know if a suspension is the same thing as a ban, and I don't know if talking with Nintendo support over the phone is gonna get me anywhere. Any opinions?

You started a dispute, that's the problem. Even if you did cancel it, they still saw it happen, more than likely their funds were FROZEN for the time. That's enough of a reason to suspect fraud, hence ban. Your only option is to call them and explain the situation.

I was going to delete this thread before you replied. I just came here from some other guy's thread and knew I had an account here so it seemed convenient. The other guy was stealing credit cards though, lol.

Sounds good, their support lines won't be open till tomorrow and I'm just kinda worried and upset. Primarily just didn't know if they would even help, or if a suspension and ban are one in the same

It's a bit hard to accidentally dispute a PayPal transaction, you have to go out your way to do that. Nintendo's system probably think you were using a stolen PayPal account so have suspended your account.

I'd imagine they will sort it out if you speak to them and payment has gone though for the game.

I have only disputed anything on paypal once, but used to be you had to go trough 5 screens and fill in a lot of info to dispute anything. Did they recently change this? Anyway, your best bet is to contact nintendo support.

No, Sony does the same thing. They don't offer refunds and if you dispute the charges or do a charge back to your card, you'll be banned. Wouldn't surprise me if Ninty went this route to fight fraud.

That was an easy way of explaining it. It got disputed because a Lyft ride overcharged my paypal account by $1 the following day, combined with some new security measures at Paypal where I had to send them photo copies of all this stuff to get my account to allow payments or transfers or anything of the sort, so the full 59.99 was disputed. Yes, it was accidentally disputed. Maybe you wouldn't understand this because you're wearing wooden clogs and drinking shitty beer while your homeland is pillaged by savages.

If a mod wants to prune or lock this thread or something, I already called Nintendo and my account will be back 'within 3 business days'

If you are having problems with nintendo accounts, contact nintendo. The forum would be the last place to be, we cannot be of any help here cause nintendo holds your fate. Sorry it happen to you and sorry if i was being harsh but is just not anything we can do as miracle, but if you want support, we can provide it but it comes at risk of the individual and if they will or not. :ninja:

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
