The DS has no GPU, as far as I know; just the two ARMs.

That's quite a vague question.sendyo said:Is a PICA 200 Chip better than a NVIDIA Chip? Or is it the other way around?
DiscostewSM said:It has a custom GPU with buffers that hold the data needed for rendering. The job of the ARM9 in relation for 3D graphics is just to load it into those buffers via memory registers. The CPU, prior to loading, can do it's own manipulation of the 3D data though.
I thought so tooTM2-Megatron said:pachura said:DS(i) = ARM9 + ARM7 + DS-GPU

NVIDIA = not specific
Tegra = specific

Is that new info or something? 'cuz I I can't find anythiing at all on that; just the two CPUs, which most people I've seen talking about the issue say handle everything.

>.< whats better than a pica 200 then?
I don't know what that means but with 3D it takes very little extra processing. All that's beeing done is just having another angle. The GPU and CPU have already loaded the polygons, theres no need to double render polygons.DiscostewSM said:People who say the DS does 3D processing and rendering via the CPUs obviously has never looked into DS programming before.
I'm pretty sure he isn't talking about the 3DS stereoscopic 3D but how the DS does 3D. Not too sure about the stereoscopic 3D not taking much extra processing. After all, it has to render twice as many pixels.Deathmore said:I don't know what that means but with 3D it takes very little extra processing. All that's beeing done is just having another angle.
