I should have said that it is an old 3DS I have and that it hadn't been up dated since a few years ago. How do I check what update level my 3DS is at? Thanks.
Open system settings. It's displayed in the bottom right corner of the top screen.I should have said that it is an old 3DS I have and that it hadn't been up dated since a few years ago. How do I check what update level my 3DS is at? Thanks.
You already have cfw so it's safe to update.Okay, I feel like an idiot so forgive me.
If all I want to do is be able to download games from freeShop and game updates etc with my CFW N3DS XL after updating B9S yesterday...
does this matter?
Does homebrew work on 11.6?
See here for what was patched https://gbatemp.net/threads/update-11-5-and-homebrew.477138/
To get just homebrew (no CFW) on 11.4 or 11.5 see https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(alternatives)
But you can install CFW for easiest access to homebrew https://3ds.guide
Or can I just system update and not worry about it? Sorry again.
Just follow 3ds.guide. When you have completed it you can follow the freeshop guide in the first post of this thread to download games. If you already have the games in .3ds format you can convert them to installable .cia by following this: https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage#converting-a-3ds-to-cia and install them with FBI.Thanks. my ver is 10.1.0-27e if that is any help to finding out what I need to play games?
Format it to fat32 and 32k allocation unit with guiformat first (this will remove all files on the card): http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htmThanks for the reply and the help. Having a bit of a problem getting some file onto the SD card(It's a 64gb card.) it says there isn't enough room on it to put three files on it!
Try using 64k clusters (allocation unit size) thenI have tried that and it keeps saying that the drive is to small for FAT32 that it needs to be at least 64K clusters. Whatever that means?
Afternoon all. I bought a sky 3DS card and a 64GB micro SD card for my 3DS. (I haven't updated my 3DS before anyone asks.) I have been trying to get roms onto my card all morning without any luck,I have been using the disk writter thing to copy games onto but when I put the sky 3DS card into my 3DS and press the blue button it just does nothing,no flashing and the 3DS just says there is nothing on the card. I hope someone can help me with this as it's driving me mad! Thanks.
Or just install cfwThe sky3ds (blue button version) is an older obsolete version of the sky3ds flash card. Depending on which games you are trying to play , particularly newer games, those games might be not showing up because of new anti piracy rules Nintendo implemented. Try putting an older game (before 2016 at least) and add one game at a time on your sd card and see if it shows up. Although it might not be what you want to hear, you'll have to get the newer sky3ds+ (orange button version) to play some of the newer games out for the 3ds and this orange button version also claims future FW support updates if anything changes with anti-piracy updates where as the blue button version does not.
Or just install cfw
If you have your emuNAND backed up and your original Nintendo 3DS folder, just restore the backup to your sysNAND using GodMode9. See https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage for how to restore a backup.Question: Is it possible to use reinand emunand (11.2) on Luma (11.6) 3ds?
What happened is that, I changed my reinand (11.2) to luma 3ds (11.6) CFW
I made a huge mistake by merging emunand to sysnand after I switch my Reinand to Luma + B9S. I followed the guide from 3ds.guide. However, I forgot to backup all my data by using JKSM or Checkpoint and what I did usually was only copy the whole files and dragged it to my backup folder on PC instead. When I finished converting my reinand to luma 3ds, in Godmode9, I backed up my emunand and later I formatted my emunand freeing my sd card's storage to be sysnand instead, but I accidentally update my sysnand to the latest, which I shouldn't be doing that because my EMunand is at 11.2. I was wondering if there is any possibility to update my Emunand with sysnand. I tried to switch my CFW, but it was too late. I thought of getting another 3ds and hack it again by Injecting my emunand to "SYSTEM Virtual" in godmode9, update my emunand to the latest, backup emunand on the new, one wait for a week, then transfer back to my old one.
Overall, my 3ds is at Luma V8.1.1 + B9S v1.3. It's working, not brick, but I'm trying to get my files back from emunand.
Here's the picture I've done.
As a result it ended up with "Failed to mount Ctrnand"
Is there any other way I can restore this besides buying a new 3ds.
After attempting to delete my extdata on reinand (11.2) which I injected to sysnand Luma (11.6)
I managed to followed it exactly from the Troubleshoot. I tried to delete emunand's extdata which has been inserted to
sysnand and turns out the result was an error. Is there anyway I can do?
I was following Quantumcat's instruction and I didn't have the time for it like a month ago. Sorry if I made a thread already.
Here is the result I ended up with.

YesTo clarify with the otherapp payload, that MUST be my NAND's firmware version (not my EmuNand) correct?
I did as you instructed me Quantumcat, but the Emunand (reinand 11.2) still doesn't boot to the home screen and I tried to delete extdata and ended up with "error". I still get the same error "Failed to mount CTRnand" The file that I'm trying to mount is 171016_UNKNOWNXXX_Sysnand_000.bin This file was originally backed up from GM9 a month ago and I don't know why is that file renamed into "UNKNOWNXX".The file was supposed to be name based off from my 3ds model #. My 3ds model# is QW103903161. It was supposed to be 171016_QW103903161_sysnand_000.bin. The program that was previously used to back up with Reinand awhile back was Emunand9. I'm already regreting for switching my CFW just to do NTRboot. LolIf you have your emuNAND backed up and your original Nintendo 3DS folder, just restore the backup to your sysNAND using GodMode9. See https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage for how to restore a backup.
