I have been using the latest one, as far as I know, but I would still check, Ma'am.
Thank you so much for your help!
Decrypt9 I know for sure works on boot9strap v1.2, so maybe the v1.3 update for boot9strap (seeing as you followed the guide to update to the latest and v1.3 is the latest) it broke Decrypt9. That's all I can think of. Can you provide a screenshot of your SD:/luma/payloads folder?

I do hope the screenshot helps.. I'd really like to know what I should add or change to make it work..

Delete both mentions of Decrypt9 from that folder (and the start_SafeB9SInstaller.bin file because you no longer need that). Download the first zip file (named Decrypt9WIP-20170607-104551.zip) from here and extract it. Move the Decrypt9WIP.firm file to your payloads folder. Do not rename it and do not copy the Decrypt9WIP.bin file. Open the Luma chainloader and see if you can launch Decrypt9 now.

I do not know how you do it, Ma'am, but you make wonders, for sure.
I am now able to open Decrypt9, and now I'll be able to unban myself! You are such a great help, thank you so much!

hello, I just installed luma3DS on my o3ds XL and during the last step (finalizing setup) I turned off my device, filling up the files on my sd card as the guide instructed me and it couldn't be turned on anymore. I push the power button and only the blue light turns on. have I bricked my 3ds? during the luma 3DS configuration, I ticked on "auto start the emunand".

EDIT: I can get back to the menu by deleting the config.bin and removing the godmode on payloads.

EDIT 2: download update failed

EDIT 3: I tried CTR transfer https://3ds.guide/ctrtransfer and now my device doesn't turn on anymore even after I delete config.bin on my 3ds.

I am not sure what I was doing wrong... can anyone help me? or my device is as good as bricked

The blue light usually means you don't have boot.firm on your sd card. Can you get to GodMode9?

I could, before everything went wrong. my device shows godmode is loading but then it freezes. so it's not bricked yet?

I put boot.firm on the sd card as instructed by the guide.

EDIT:

suddenly I can access godmode9 again. what do I do now?

That means Luma is working. What exactly happens when you try to boot it normally? Does it still show the blue light?

when I boot normally it goes black. sometime it's entering luma 3DS configuration page, and if godmode9 is there it seems loading.

to be honest I am confused where should I go from here.

hi there,

i have some games installed, and since i upgraded to b9s, i installed mighty gunvolt burst and monster hunter stories, which do not boot up. i simply get a crash screen telling me all sorts of stuff including a crash.dump.log saved somewhere.

what to do to solve this issue? did i do something wrong, when i upgraded from a9lh to b9s?

Is your firmware at 11.5? If not, update. If you still have problems try visiting the game's eShop page to get the seed.

update from me:

for some reason, I was finally able to update my device and it's able to load the homebrew launcher etc, I don't know what really happened, but it works.

EDIT:
it seems i am still having a problem to boot. at the moment, it's a matter of luck whether I can boot into the device or not.

no, its not updated. i dont know if i should. i downloaded it from the freeshop, now it finally works, even though iam not sure why this is working now, while the cia-installed stuff didnt work before.

another question:

i have ever oasis(EUR) on my PAL device.

i saw that there is a korean version of the same game available on freeshop.

even though i have the EUR version dumped from the original cart on my device, will downloading the korean version of the game from freeshop meddle with the PAL version?

any advice for other korean games on the 3ds (it also should be in korean language because most games are only in english/japanese)?

I wonder if freeshop is updated. Sorting by USA and Europe, Fire Emblem Echoes is top of my list followed by Urban Trial Freestyle 2.

or it will work if I never use eshop on 2DSLL ?

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
