Does it say Ver in front of 11.0? If it does, you have screwed yourself over and you'll either need to get a hardmod or find another 3DS with custom firmware to do the DSiware downgrade.

When you were in RedNAND did you ever leave System Settings before you updated?

No I didn't, I went into wifi, setting to make sure the autodns is enabled, and I exit that portion. I don't remember ever exiting settings to go to homescreen! Crap crap I did everything and now it's all wasted?

Yeah. You should've made sure it said Emu before updating.

So, A9LH just got updated, and i think now is a good time to update my n3ds.
I'm using an N3DS, with menuhax. I'm on 9.2 sysnand and 11.0 with GW emunand and a 64GB μsd card (about 4-6GB free as i recall).
Where do i start? My guts tells me to start at step 2 (the CTRNand), but i'm not so sure (i already have menuhax installed).
Also, with the new guide, how many hours (or minutes) do i need for doing everything i need?
And before i do all this, i have to backup my emu(red)nand, right?

Hi, i'm new here as a registered user, but i always read the forum since a year approximately, i have a question about downgrading a 3ds in FW 10.6, i want to know if it necessary to have a copy of zelda oot or ninja cube for accessing to the hbl and downgrade from sysupdater or can i use any entrypoint for hbl like basehax or menuhax to downgrade my 3ds in FW 10.6? thanks in advance for the reply.

Well, I finally installed the CFW on my n3ds, thanks to @Plailect, his guide and and the guys who answered my annoying noob questions. (@rikumax25!, @Sonic Angel Knight, @KunoichiZ, @NintenDavid and @Quantumcat)

I think this will be my last question regarding the CFW install.
Since my n3ds was already on fw 11, I had to use an o3ds to transfer the fieldrunners to my n3ds.
Now this o3ds is on fw 9.2 on sysnand, missing the health&safety app and on fw 11 on rednand.

I could complete the guide and install the cfw, but the owner asked me not to leave any homebrew installed if possible. My options would be update sysnand to fw 11 or just install the 9.2 h&s.app, but I don't have the 9.2 version. I would like to stick with the second option and leave the door open in case the owner changes his mind.

So what should I do now?

If there is an updated version of a .nds dump, for instance, Super Mario 64 DS v01, is the cheat function going to work or just wont display any cheats at all? Such as on the dstwo or r4i 3ds etc.

If you want to be on updated sysNAND but have all your data from your emuNAND, you need to flash it to your sysNAND. You can use an emuNAND if you wish (but there are no upsides, it only makes some things harder. The only upside would be if you wanted a region-changed emuNAND).

it's probably better for the SD card to format with EmuNAND9. or SD Formatter, if it's between 4gb and 32gb.

You can use emuNAND9. Backup the files and choose to format without emuNAND. Then copy them back.
