Was the card completely empty when you tested it? The test is not useful otherwise.

Well, if it copied without errors, then Unstoppable Copier probably would have been unnecessary.

It may be overkill, but if all else fails you can manually extract your save data and restore it with Checkpoint
Thank you so much!! I was able to recover my save files! This also means that I can recover the save files from my old broken 3DS!! thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!

Because my 3ds is a pre-owned one and come with a hack, and since I'm a noob I want to de-hacked it then re-hack to get a better understanding of 3ds CFW
Format System Memory does not remove custom firmware.
Make sure to create a NAND image and store it on multiple devices.
https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage

If you have any questions just ask. Someone will help you. Reading through the guide is a good idea to get started. No need to uninstall B9S.

Good luck and have fun!

Since Nintendo switched off the 3DS network, my 3DS thinks it has no internet. The connection test fails.

The homebrew also thinks the 3DS has no internet.

What am I doing wrong or what can I do?

You can still download/update homebrew apps from Universal-Updater, can't you? It should as that has nothing to do with Nintendo's online servers..

Sup everyone
Im kinda new in 3ds homebrew, and i've been trying to download multiple games for months now
And i have multiple problems with my new 3dsXL
1. FBI not detecting the cia files I download, when i hacked my 3ds, FBI let me choose the options to install cia file, also with godmode9 happened the same, but idk why recently none of them let me download the cias file i download, it doesnt matter if they are from different websites, it just wouldn't let me
2. DS games not working, when I forward the ds files to the home menu, some games appeared with a white icon and whitout a name, i don't use TW++ cuz when I used it for the first time it bricked my entire console and I had to delete it, and in order to still play nds games without bricking my console i used the forwarder, but nowadays every single rom I forwarded it would appear with those white icons (I tried forwarding with godmode9 but it also didn't let me) And I also read a post from this forum about the same problem but it didn't solve the problem sadly
3. Many games when downloaded didn't work, games like Kirby Planet Robobot, Wario Ware GOLD, Yokai Watch, among others when I open them up they gave me the error type generic with different process id depending the game, i've read multiple forums from this website and from reddit and the things they tried just didn't helped me so basically im out of ideas
I downloaded the CFW fix but it didn't solve any of the problems I just mentioned, if anyone can help it would be REALLY aprecciated

So, this might be a little too technical for this thread, but I'm not really sure exactly where to post this, so here I go. Let me know if there's a better place to put this instead.

I'm trying to figure out how to do some 3ds ROM hacking and I have a baseline theoretical knowledge on it, but I'm really lacking in practical knowledge. I want to look into creating something like a wrapper around an existing ROM, but to do that I need to figure out a bit more about the inner structure of a ROM file.

The main question I have is what does the main loop look like in ASM inside the ROM - basically whatever is being compiled from `3ds::aptMainLoop()` in C. My best guess is a loop checking if an external piece of memory or register is free, or a unique binary instruction for the 3ds, but I don't know, and I'm not really sure exactly how to figure it out.

Some secondary questions are if there's a recommended tools for reverse engineering 3ds ROMs specifically (I've found a couple), and more details on the layout of a 3ds file would be nice too (to start with, where's the entrypoint?). Sorry, these feel like basic questions, but I've struggled to find resources on them. To try to pick up basics, I've been looking at a compiled Hello World from the devkit, but I still barely have any idea what I'm looking at, even knowing the source code.

I thought New 3DS XL only had a top IPS screen, but this guy below has a New 3DS XL with both IPS screens... How do you come across a N3DS XL with two IPS screens?

That said, I didn't find the picture quality better than the DSi XL, if anything, the DSi XL looks better for DS games.

The DSI XL does not upscale, it's the same resolution as NDS, it's just that each pixel of the screen is much bigger, so of course will look sharper than the upressed and blurred default look of 3ds.

I got a DSI XL to try, after reading how "great" the screen is and I have to say that I wasn't impressed, and the empty space between pixels is very noticeable giving the picture a very "gridlike" look, unlike normal ds nor 3ds/2ds xl models.

I am not crazy about it, to be honest, but that's more about taste than anything. The viewing angle matter isn't also as great as people make it sound like...

About IPS/LCD, as far as I know, it is a lottery. Both, only top, only bottom, none is ips... I honestly stopped caring about it, and got a n2dsxl. Even more after my experience with the dsi. The stupid prices don't help either...

Besides, one can mess around with Redshift to configure the screens too.

Hello, everyone, I'm new to this. I'll try to be brief: I got myself a New modded 3DS. Downoladed some games and the internet connection suddenly stopped working. Weirdly enough, internet only works while using the browser; yet, fails connection tests everytime. I have a non-modded New 3DS XL and it connects to the internet normally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would look at resetting your router and trying once more to connect with the modded 3ds

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
