Has that ever been addressed?
No, if you go past the limit you will need to install games on a different sd/micro sd card.
Has that ever been addressed?
You can use 3dsbank to install games to another "Nintendo 3ds" once it hits that 300 title limit. You switch between the folders when you want to access a game that's installed on the other folder etc. There's no other way around this.Okay, so, some time back I heard something about a ticket limit for the 3ds family of systems, where it would arbitrarily limit how many games it would have logged or installed data for.
Has that ever been addressed?
A 256gb as card should work. Just make sure to format it as FAT32 64kb cluster size, and check it with h2testw to make sure it's not faulty or fake. Now that other shop methods are a thing, is there a capacity limit on the SD card for use in the console? Since now, the 32gb I had in there is feeling small, and I'm not sure if it would have a problem if I tried repurposing the 256gb card I previously used on my Switch.
Did you watch the video..? I know I didn't.If it's still a thing, how was Jirard able to buy every game on the eShop and have it on his system?
Cards larger than 128 GB will start to have problems with GBA VC injects and custom themes, and in theory some games might have problems saving as well. Now that other shop methods are a thing, is there a capacity limit on the SD card for use in the console? I watched part of the video a while back. Iirc, yes, he used multiple sd cards.
No, luma now updates nand too.If I update the Luma firmware via the Universal Updater do I have to update anything manually as well? Like, I know it updates something on the SD Card but I'm not sure if it updates internally in the nand/system.
So why aren't the 3ds games ported by the companies as much?
Since you used a VC inject Emerald won't appear in Checkpoint, for that you'd need to backup your save with GBAVCSM (by @TurdPooCharger). Launch the script from GodMode9.Hello everyone,
I use a N2DSXL and recently homebrewed it up with the most used guide on the net (3dsDOThacksDOTguide). I've played some pokémon games until recently and now I want to Play some Pokémon Emerald. I found an Emerald CIA which I used, and now I can play it very nicely without emulator/rocketrob solution.
Only thing is, I'd love to edit my team a little bit because I'm not going to spend time fishing for Feebases or getting a good nature poke. I've used PKSM for ORAS editing, and Pokémon Chest Universal-Team through Twilight for BW2 editing, respectively. When I use PKSM I see that my Pokémon Yellow displayed, so I'm trying to find the location of the Emerald save to edit accordingly. Could anybody help me out?
Thank you for your reply and your intention to help me out. However, I'm very new to this and this got too technical too fast for me. Please bear with me. I see the Github link and dl'd the GBAVCSM.gm9 script. What do I do now, exactly?Since you used a VC inject Emerald won't appear in Checkpoint, for that you'd need to backup […]
Click backup. After it's done your save will be in the sd:/gm9/GBAVCSM directory.edit3: Script run. Pokémon Emerald found. Now I'm prompted w/ Backup/Inject/Rename/Delete
I added it through PKSM by following that path. Thank you SO MUCH for your help.Click backup. After it's done your save will be in the sd:/gm9/GBAVCSM directory.
FWIW, always keep a backup save, one that's unedited, just in case. But i guess if you're only adding Pokémon ir editing ev/iv's it won't be a problem. Also i recommend using the legality check in PKHeX, i can't recall if PKSM has it tho.I added it through PKSM by following that path. Thank you SO MUCH for your help.
I explained why in my first reply above. It's 'cause you have to extract the save in order to edit it in PKSM, it's not like with emulators when it usually stores in a "saves" folder somewhere. 3ds game saves (VC included) are encrypted, what Checkpoint and GBAVCSM do is decrypt them, and so you could restore them any time you want and even on other 3dses. Hope that makes sense. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Also, what was the purpose of creating that aforementioned backup, in this case specifically?
It's just for EV/IV/Natures/gender.FWIW, always keep a backup save, one that's unedited, just in case. But i guess if you're only adding Pokémon ir editing ev/iv's it won't be a problem. Also i recommend using the legality check in PKHeX, i can't recall if PKSM has it tho.

How do I delete these "E: 2023[…]"?E: 2023-5-17_14-14-22 (some sort of backup with date and time?)
E: 2023-5-17_14-14-24
E: 2023-5-17_14-14-36
E: 2023-5-17_14-13-13
E: 00b2d100 Pokémon Emerald Version (AGB-P-F4C2) (AGB-P-F4C2) (W)
E: 2023-5-17-_15-17-38
E: 2023-5-17-_15-17-32

Well it's a way to make sure your edited Pokémon is legit. So if you ever want to transfer your Pokémon to the Switch games, they'll transfer without any issues. It's just for EV/IV/Natures/gender.
I'm not going to use anything online against anybody so I don't know if legality check is relevant in this case.
You have to restore the PKSM-edited save with GBAVCSM in order to use it.I'm not really sure I understand the second part of your reply, as I'm a layman.
I edited the save now according to my wishes, but launching the Pokémon Emerald VC isn't updated with the newest edits in place. I was not able to launch from PKSM directly. I think maybe this is what you're referring to in your first reply? I have to somehow revert/convert back what the script did so that it(save file) goes back into encrypted form?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
If PKSM is confusing to you i recommend using PKHeX instead, which is better imo, also easy to use. Just ftp the save file with ftpd to your pc, and send it back when you're done.I have no clue what I'm doing to be honest and in the list where I can select Emerald within PKSM, I see the following:
How do I delete these "E: 2023[…]"?
Sorry to bother you with this. Thank you for your patience.
Edit: OK I think these dated (what seems to be backup files) are irrelevant. Exiting and reentering removes them.
I still haven't figured out how to make the changes live.
How do I do this without fucking things up? I feel like a gigantic drunk elephant in an antique lamp shop. You have to restore the PKSM-edited save with GBAVCSM in order to use it.
PKSM isn't super confusing. I should try to learn new things. Besides, we're halfway there. If PKSM is confusing to you i recommend using PKHeX instead, which is better imo, also easy to use. Just ftp the save file with ftpd to your pc, and send it back when you're done.
Place the modded save along with the others located in sd:/gm9/GBAVCSM/saves (i think) Run the script like you did before, and instead of clicking on "backup" chose "restore" this time, to restore the save. That's it.How do I do this without fucking things up? I feel like a gigantic drunk elephant in an antique lamp shop.
No. Whether you use PKSM or PKHeX is the same, you still need to restore the save with GBAVCSM.Wouldn't the step with the GBAVCSM script be in vain?
