To get consistent game art, i recommend the libretro thumbnail packs.

They have box art, snaps (screenshots) and title screen for everything!
(Hakchi will auto use whatever picture is named the same as the rom)

I presume _km_snes9x_dual_core_10_19_17.hmod is the newest, based on snes9x 1.54.1? Does that mean MSU1 works?

I've tried without success to run Fatal Fury Special running into the snes mini.
Black screen, then back to menu

Neogeo bios included, command line /fba, rom tested on mame

Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Cadillacs and Dinossaurs runs marvelously

Any advice?

Using the wrong rom set. Keep testing out others. Also I noticed that if u rename the original file it won't work. Can only rename it in hakchi

2nd Core Update for the day:) Added MAME 2014 Core! It also favorably handles 7zip Compression! It is also a little bit of a space drainer, and somewhat cpu intensive. But, it is a good option for certain games that cannot run on MAME 2002/2005/2010. Added NEC PC-98 Core (NP2kai), which is a nice computer with many great games! Updated Info Files. And, lastly, did some refactoring of code. Enjoy today's second update! And, have fun with the MAME 2014 Core!

Here is a video of MAME 2014 in action, sorry for the crooked screen!

And, you can grab this updated Core Set from

Thanks maniac! Could we have a list somewhere what beat em up games work and what doesnt on mame?
Battletoads, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Simpsons work with mame2003.
Games i havent got working with 2003 or 2010: golden axe 1 & 2. Punisher. These are all nice side scrolling beat em up games.

Hi. Any chance I can resolve a C8 error on my nes Classic without being at my computer w/ Hakchi. I could re download hakchi at my friends house. But no access to original kernel. Would that help at all? Plz help!!! Thx.
I suppose you could manually delete save states if you are still able to get into the system...

Golden Axe 1, 2 and 3 are also on Megadrive/Genesis playable!

Yes they are but the Arcade versions are always the best in my opinion. Best graphics, sounds, most animations and biggest sprites. Always the most amazing ones. T2 arcade shooter is one i couldnt get working too :/

I run most Neo-Geo Games through MAME 2003. But, here are the set-ups you would need for each.

OLD Neo=MAME 2003 & Bios Neo OLD Req & RetroArch, then command line to /bin/mame2003

NEW Neo=MAME 2010 & Bios Neo NEW Req & RetroArch, then command line to /bin/mame2010

For old, FBA also works, and for new FBA 2012 also works. You just have to adjust the command line for each of those Cores.
Neogeo bios (neogeo.zip) needs to be installed on hakchi2

Or do I simply copy the file into the game folder?

I would like to put the Arcade Version of Sunset Riders on my SNESMC.
I want to use Mame2010
What are the command line arguments to make it work?

Will try if I can run that Neo Geo rom including Golden Axe 1 and 2. Although remaining space on my SNES Mini is limited lol

Much appreciated man. I have one question if you don't mind. Is there any special hmod I should use for Sega NAOMI games? Like Marvel vs Capcom 2 and a couple others. I've tried the fba2012, and all 3 mame cores so I don't know if It's the wrong rom or what (I've download a few). Also Spiderman has been kicking my butt. It will start on mame2010 but run super slow, and not even startup on any other core.

Just take out the "zip" in the argument and replace it with "mame2010"

I'm emulating gameboy/gameboy color via gambatte/retroarch and the image is scaled 5x by default (144px x 5 = 720px)... is there a way to change the default scaled size (e.g. 4x instead of 5x) using the command line arguments?

No, you'd have to go into the retroarch menu itself by hitting start and select when in game then go to the video options.

That's the entire command line?

I got it working by simply using mame2003
/Bin/mame2003 /usr/share/games/CLV-Z-UOWVW/ssriders.zip

Damn again my minisnes is somehow messed up. Cant add any modules. The empty space is also messed up. Is there a way to return back to startpoint 0 where everything extra is removed from the minisnes ?

Uninstall all modules, then once every extra modules are removed you can reflash the original kernel and then start anew. I would use the save manager to copy everything just in case.
