I heard that updating removes it.
Op is using Luma not a gamecart. OK try this, update ctrhtpwn or whatever it is called in the homebrew menu. You will have to get the new version on github, I did that awhile back just to update my stuff. Maybe that's why I never get the nag message

Okay, first off, ctr-httpwn is dead, please stop using it and stop riding out ancient fws (see the second thing). Second, with this magical thing called early a9lh, we were able to write protect firms, thus making it 110% safe to update sysnand. Third, a gamecart and luma are not mutually exclusive. Fourth, there were plenty of accurate responses already posted to this thread.

There is literally 0 reason to stay on old firmware. Install CFW, update to latest firmware, enjoy games designed for latest firmware.
I'm glad to hear Mercury Steam continues to make shit games. Maybe Capcom will ask them to make a Megaman sequel.

updating while having cfw is fine just make a backup before updating and if you have cfw its possible to downgrade

Honesly, I see it as a regular platforming game that happens to have "Metroid" on it.
If you felt obligated to buy the game, that is fine. But you do not have to update your system. Use GodMode9 or Decrypt9 to dump and decrypt the game, convert it to CIA, and install on your SD card. That way you will not be required to update. I was wondering if Nintendo would try to pull shit like that, and now I know.

Umm helps if you learn to read, no one was trying to call you out the guy was simply pointing out you and the op were using two different versions of the game.
ctr-httpwn still works on 11.2 so it maybe a solution for the op(if he/she hasn't updated by now, seems they might have), tho I've read that in some situations/games it doesn't.

There is absolutely no point in staying on 11.2 if you have cfw. If you don't have cfw, get cfw ffs.
