Put the retroarch.hmod and cores into hakchi2/user_mods. Start hakchi2 and Klick on Install Mods and check retroarch mod and start the sync process.

thanks for the help. I checked retroarch mod and sync'd it. then tried loading mario cart for SNES. did not work. hit start and went back to main menu on the game system. Sorry I can't seem to figure it out :(.

Anyone walk me through how to change the music? I installed the mod on hakchi, but not sure where I go next to pick what music I want. thanks you all are awesome people helping out!!

You can't use the fact that checksum is the same for both ROMs (their ROM and the one from GoodNES set) as a proof that they use downloaded ROMs.
True. It's possible they did, which in and of itself is a bit amusing, but I guess it can't be proven definitively based on what we currently know.

I'm trying to install each of the mods into hakchi as i type this. How long does this typically take? It's not moving at all, but I can hear the motor of my PC working hard on something.....any advice?

This is a reality, they used Internet-found rom. Some of them weren't even renamed ;) it is always their property. An official dump without a "standard" header would have been more time consuming for a new emulator I suppose :P

You also have to install the SNES core hmod file. It's in the cores folder. Just place it in the user_mods folder as you did with RetroArch, and then install that module via hakchi.

thank you - now what about for Sega and Nintendo 64? Do I need to install any other roms? or just retroarch & the snes for SNES games?

Hi,

I apologized if this was answered before . I uploaded 132 games(97mb) to my NES mini using Hakchi v2.13c. It is a mixture of NES, SNES and Game Boy, GBA games. My step daughter was thrilled to play Pokemon Red on GBA for first time. After a hour of playing she hit reset to save her progress but nothing happened. No Save State. Save States work for NES games but not for any of the SNES or GBA a games. Did i miss something? Any help or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Hakchi is awesome. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into it.

Are there any tried and true tricks for getting The Mystery of Murasame Castle to work? I've tried the following line and it doesn't launch:

/bin/nes /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-Z-TUJNC/Mystery_of_Murasame_Castle__The.fds.7z --retroarch --core fceumm

also have tried 'nestopia' instead of 'fceumm'. How are you all getting this game to launch?

This happened to me when there was a bad rom or the name of the rom had a period or some punctuation that caused no save state to be created.

Is there any way to smooth out the graphics for the genesis games??? They seem very pix-elated!!! Or is just me!

Bigjdoberman
The graphics are spot on to what I am used to seeing on the Sega Genesis carts. :) That is just how the graphics looked back in the day. At least that's how I feel...

OK, for now i'm done @Cluster. i started a pull request.
i recreate all folders and create console images in pixel art. add new "official" supported consoles like 32x, neogeo, gamegear, Atari 2600, Arcade.
i know there are many systems which is missing, but for now i add all official supported cores, not the user created ones. u guys to fast and its a long process for me to create this pixel stuff. :P

here the preview for the new console icons:
View attachment 79623

for all who cant wait till its in the next release (i hope so) here my fork:
https://github.com/NeoRame/hakchi2/tree/master/folder_images

Looks great dude! Might use this for my folder project. :D Do you happen to have pixelart of the Nintendo Famicom as well? :D

Hmm, maybe the famicom mini stock emulator is different, it can play and switch sides FDS games. Anyway, I think Nestopia and FCEUMM needs disksys.rom to run FDS games normally (outside of retroarch) from what I remember when using them on my PC, could that be the problem?

Is there a link? I'd like to read about that
https://www.technobuffalo.com/2017/01/22/nintendo-virtual-console-super-mario-rom/
I've seen this before. These articles only mention iNES header that doesn't really prove anything.
@asper, on the other hand, sent me something much more interesting…

I'm curious?

Well here is links to stuff Nintendo changed in the Gamecube/Virtual Console/Mini roms making them different than the original NES roms (as well as mentioning which ones never made it onto the mini previously):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...siQZaa-xVGlSD73Rt26Nd2rk0/edit#gid=1328431117

Presumably the roms used in the animal crossing games are either older roms, or the ones they later used in the virtual consoles. It would be interesting if someone extracted them and compared.

More details discussed here:

The famicom mini stock emulator doesn't like every FDS game. it can't switch sides for the Mursame for some reason...

I've been asking if someone could extract the 3DS virtual console version to test it. That version appears to have been modified to remove the disk swapping altogether.

Default cores are the ones that you see in "cores" folder of release.zip.
I obviously can't include a core that has a bug this serious as a main one.

Anyway, you still can use snes9x2010. Just don't use savestates.

So cluster's RetroArch mod uses snes9x2010 and we should switch to your snes9x2005 to have save states?

Thanks.
