What GBA yes are worth putting on here (5-10). I never played GBA
Mega Man and Bass, Rhythm Tengoku, and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

I'm running into Mega Man X's anti-piracy measures while trying to play through it on the NES Classic right now (power-ups disappearing quickly, the game skipping stages, etc.). Is there anything that can be done about this currently? I imagine if X is getting set off some of the other SNES games must get set off by the Retroarch emulator too.

You need to add the --retroarch in command line of the game you want. If change in command line global it's change for all, I think. Remove the --retroarch from global command line.

Rgs.

@nesito

I added it the global command line so that I get the best emulation possible for all games. (Many. many games ran like crap on the stock emulator.) I couldn't add --retroarch into each game individually as it would take me ages to do that. It was way easier to just do it for all of them at once in global.

I just find it odd that because of that only change, .fds titles don't run.

@pcm720

I actually downloaded and installed your version of retroarch.hdmod. Would it happen to be anything in there that is creating my issues I'm running into with .fds games?

Sorry if this has been answered recently but I'm not to keen to read all 200+ pages ;)

What is the file / size limit per folder? Is it still limited to, lets say 30mb of SNES games and 30mb of GENESIS games and so on?

I've made some changes to Cluster's RetroArch module since default settings were not quite to my liking.
If someone needs it, it's available on GitHub

Here are all the changes:
  • Added Stella core for Atari 2600 emulation
  • System dir is now '~/system'
  • Core info dir is now '~/info', also added info files. They're really useful if you use RetroArch's GUI.
  • RGUI default browser dir is now '/usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi' instead of '/'
  • Disabled bilinear filtering for every preset
  • Enabled integer scaling
  • Greyscale palette for Gambatte core
I noticed that both GBA cores were in the core folder. Can I delete the old one, or should I keep it? Is it set to mGBA for default?

I installed the Hakchi2 2.12 and the only problem I am having if there is anyway to keep the Bilinear Filtering off when in the video settings? Every time I turn it off and reset the NES mini it resets to ON.
Need to edit "retroarch-watchdog" script in retroarch mod. I'll do it a bit later.

Is anybody else having audio issues wth Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island?

I've not played it for years but it sounds very different to how I remember it, ether's an almost constant grating sound playing as I play the game. I've watched a couple of videos on YouTube to ensure it wasn't just that I was remembering it differently but they all play just how I remember them. Does anybody know of a way to fix this? I was really hoping that this was going to be one of the first SNES games that the kids play this evening. :(

Thanks.

You can remove it.
Newest version of my mod shouldn't have Mednafen GBA core. It's likely that this is a leftover from previous mods. Because I forgot to remove it. Will fix it in the next update

@nesito Hi guy ! Can you help me, please ? I've installed Retroarch (without we can see) in Mini Nes Classic because I can run Super Mario Mart. Yet, I can't play Astérix or Beauty and the Beast or The Mysterious Murasame Castle and I've written command line "--retroarch" in every game. Why to your mind ? Thanks.
About Astérix/ Beauty and the Beast are for SNES?
About Murasame Castle, if you put --retroarch when the game start enter in RA menu(in normal retroarch.hmod the button combination is L1 + R1 + SELECT + START , if are using pcm RA mod, the buttons are SELECT + START. Then change the butons for 2 FDS disk options.

Check in this video I show the "trick" ;)

To see Murasame Castle a bit running on Mini NES Classic on hakchi 2.11->

Ok you need the FDS bios. I forget.

@Cluster Can be possible in future versions use .zip games for other systems without limit in ~35MB total size. I tried with 0 NES games with/without CloverApp added, and more of 32MB of games in separated .zip(also separated CLV-H-????? for each rom) gives me red LED on(no syncro is made). Or when the syncro is finished, the led turn off and power on itself(no syncro is made)

This can be solved?

Hello

I am using Vista and had no problems using 2.11 for NES games.

But i can't go through the procedure with 2.12 . I put the dump folder and games from .11 to .12 and the retroarch mode file in user mode etc. I open 2.12 exe and try to install retroarch and OK. I just get waiting for device and nothing happens. I don't get the box with instructions to reset and power on etc. I tried reset and power 5 seconds but nothing.

I tried .11 again just to ad another nes game and it worked and the kernel got updated without me touching the NES mini just connect to USB so that still worked.

???

Thanks pcm720!!

Small request if possible: Could you add support for the "gg" (Game Gear) so that it uses the Genplus-gx core? Hopefully we'll have some Game Gear specific icons at some point (right now it looks like the system is always clumped with SMS).

That's up to Cluster. For now, you'll have to manually replace "path-to-your-app" with "md" in Hakchi2's command line arguments.

I doubt that. I haven't changed anything in the /bin/nes. It should automatically use Nestopia to load FDS games using BIOS image Nintendo included in NES Mini Classic's emulator.

Can I also remove cores I won't be using, such as genesis?

Of course.
