For those who don't have access to .CIA installation and have or do it through HANS, wouldn't it be simpler to just get one of traiver's CIAs, unpack it with Asia81's tool, and use the romfs and code.bin in it with HANS?

Guys, are you still intending to release documentation on the patches? There's obviously no rush, because they work great, but judging from the poll I think I'm not the only one interested in seeing it someday

There is an issue when using a Gateway card. If you use 3 rows and your game icon slot is at the top left with the icon for Crystal (I haven't tried the others) placed next to the game card slot icon on the right side only, you will receive a "Fragmentation error" when trying to load a rom and can't play ANY of .3ds files from your GW. Once you move the game away from the right side of card slot icon (for example, below it) or change rows to anything but 3 you can play your GW roms. This doesn't happen for other .cia games.

If anyone else could test this it would be appreciated. Would be nice to know for sure if these particular games/cias are causing issues with playing GW roms and not just my GW having problems.

In the ReadMe, you said to patch "go to address 0x96EB7 and change the value to 0xE1"

This is only true and doable if you use the code.bin from legit YellowUS.cia as a base.
But If I use the code.bin from the french legit YellowFR.cia as a base,the game load, but crash and back to homemenu.

Just to let you know.
I didn't understand why it was not working with my french base, then I used the US legit cia as a base, and oh, it worked.

One thing again.

So, I tried with a friend (Him: SilverFrench vs Me: CrystalFrench)
I see him, he see me. Battle start.
I see his team. But not him.
For him, I have 6 Tauros (Some Frozen (Idk about the english name, in French is Gel/Gelé)), and level 50~200.
WTF ?

Our both N3DS are 11.1 with Luma and A9LH

Edit: I tried trading and it work as intended

Since Bronze has the wireless patch implemented, will it trade to GSC? I've never played Bronze, so I personally have no idea. I was just curious if anyone knew before I downloaded the .CIA file.

I've mentioned this before: just use the stock patches. They work fine with the full color hacks.

No it doesn't...?

The patch that was supplied to fix color works for all Linking GBC VC games. I guess only for the US region though, since people in other regions have pointed out that the patch doesn't work. I assume it's because code was shifted around or something to that extent.

used braindump, then applied patch & rom, created custom banner...
how can i rebuild it back to cia?

i tried to use HackingToolkit3DS (3DSB) one button askd for exheader.bin
but during decryption of pokemon yellow cxi file, theres no exheader.bin decrypted?

any help? thanks and have a nice day...

braindump is crap
braindump is good only for use with HANS.

Dup your cia using funkycia or funkeycia
Or download a warez cia

decrypt extract and rebuild it (ce/cr)

i used you packhack but i got some problems...
i used "ce" for pokemon yellow to decrypt contents
modified romfs folder (applied patch & pokemon cystal rom)
modified exefs folder (created my own banner, icon and applied the full color patch "code.bin")
edited DecryptedExHeader.bin to desired ID

entered packhack, used "CR" command...
it created a cia
when i installed it:
-the banner is pokemon crystal
-the game is pokemon crystal
-BUT the title ID remains at 0004000000171200 (pokemon yellow id)
-icon & game name still shows pokemon yellow when the gift box is not open yet, on home menu, on data management, and when i press home at the middle of that game

and if i use "cr", theres no option to customize alternetive id (ctr-p-xxxx)?
did i miss something?

you have edited the title id in the decryptedexheader file only, do the same in all HeaderNCCH files

just created a new crystal cia with my desired settings...
thanks for the help...

could i ask one more thing, i have a problem importing my save on VBA...
on VBA emulator (PC), everything works fine
but when i import the save file thru savedatafiler, the game says "save corrupted, need to initialize" something like that...
is there any work around on that error?
cuz my pokemon yellow VBA save works on the VC, but not the crystal...
