Hey guys, I'm curious about something that may explain why we don't get traditional RPG Paper Mario games anymore. Is it true that the original team who worked on the 1st and 2nd aren't with (un)intelligent systems anymore? That would explain a lot of things and I know they said they changed because they don't want this series to be too similar to Mario & Luigi but somehow I feel there's more to it than that.

P.S. to add insult to injury Paper Mario Sticker Star is the highest sold title in the series. Perhaps that also influenced their decision on going forward with this style in the series.

Damn.. I'm stuck at a point where I have to fight a black shy guy. I won't spoil what he does, but you can't hurt him normally, and the game tells you to check the manual, which doesn't work with loadiine :/

Until I can figure out which attack (or thing?) to use.. I'm gonna guess I'm stuck!

Ryota Kawade directed the first 3 is still with intelligent systems but he had nothing to do with sticker star and color splash.

You can't check the manual on Loadiine? Are you sure about that?

I'm out at dinner right now but I'm positive that it's possible.

Yeah I'm sure it's a widely discussed topic infact.

I figured out the answer to black shy guy, though there was apparently a much easier answer that I didn't think of. You'll see when you get there

I just got home to try out Loadiine with Paper Mario: Color Splash but because of the exploit it brings up Mii Maker manual instead. I had a real hard time figuring out what to do to get the green toad out of the pipe and what was frustrating is the game doesn't really give direction where your suppose to be going to have progressed further, the only reason why I went back to the first area was to find any uncolored spots and I accidentally came across that NPC.

Oh that? it's easy, and you can view the answer by pressing up I think but here it is:

Press Y for the cutout, and use the plunger

Edit: uh, what's going on, I posted a spoiler but it's not there, though I can see the text in edit mode

I already figured out what to do. My point is that there are no context clues or any sort of suggestions to have led the player into that direction. I pretty much figured out what I was suppose to do next by accident. Thats bad game design.

P.S. Are there any hidden uncolored blocks or anything at Sunglow Ridge? I'm at 97% there and I've searched pretty thoroughly.

There is a guy inside the trash bin in the harbor that gives you a hint as to what you need to do.
However if you passed him without ever knowing he was there you wouldn't know to ask him. I think maybe he revealed himself to me the first time, so that I'd know to come back there later, but I can't really remember. Between that and the letters you receive (hint hint) you have all the information you need to proceed. He's also useful if you get stuck later on.

Oh yeah, you'll run into a few obstacles like that. I did notice this. Though it eventually does all make sense in the end even though it's very scrappy.

Just a quick run through sunglow ridge, pretty straight forward stage. The only non obvious thing I can remember is the screen before the last where there is a hidden road to a box. Also you might want to check the grass in the first and second screens, maybe you missed something there

However, the 3DS is also the most sold system that has had a Paper Mario title, apart from the Wii, but that wasn't exactly a conventional Paper Mario game either (though it was still great), and the system appealed more to casuals who aren't likely to buy Paper Mario.

I like all the Paper Mario games, it's not like Mario Party where I feel they've just changed it in all the wrong ways. They changed it enough to keep it fresh but they kept the core puzzle solving mechanics and all of the games, apart from Super Paper Mario, are still turn-based with RPG elements.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the card system though, having to look down on the screen just to tap and swipe (which doesn't work that well on a resistive touchscreen to begin with) quickly becomes a chore. There's no reason that couldn't be done with a few simple button presses without having to look down on the gamepad when the rest of the game takes place more or less exclusively on the TV screen.

If I could get my capture card working would anyone be interested in trying to help me find the colorless spots? Sunglow Ridge is still giving me trouble and thats about it so far. Theres a lot of parts with grass in the levels and I checked those spots in great detail thinking the game would trick me but I'm at a loss. Also that part in the 2nd to last screen where you uncover a hidden path for an item block does not count towards the paint %, figured that was worth mentioning.

I'd help if I can see it

There is a having an opinion and not shutting the heck up about something. Calling for people to be fired? Oh ffs. It's like they are auditioning to write for Kotaku.

It's a horrible 'advert' and comparison. It's not really worth calling this 'marketing' though, it's come from the NOA twitter. An image, probably done by the people running the twitter in between what they do for their actual job at NOA.

At least it's distracted people from the game leaking... which is inadvertently a piece of genius imo.

I dont agree entirely with what was posted but generally when someone performs poorly at their job they would become a liability to the company. If the Wii U had better marketing in the first place it wouldnt be selling as bad as it is now.

That's a bigger discussion in general and that opinion is one I don't necessarily disagree on. I don't think an image from NOA twitter is really part of that discussion though. Give it the photoshop action it deserves and move on.

Just feel it's a bit rich of somebody to stoke the fires of the rabble brigade when they attempted to leak the game and such. They seem to have moved on to Pokemon Go now. Gotta content it all...

Hey guys, can I get some help please? Where can I find the bone after its been excavated and used to bring back the chain chomp. A shy guy at the stadium said he stole it than he said its lost in the storage room and that it may be somewhere in the Colosseum. I broke open all the boxes and there is no bone and I dont think I can beat that boss fight without it.

When you first enter the colosseum, go to the left side (spectator side) where you initially where not allowed to go in when you first got there.

Just progress through that section and you'll eventually get to it.

Bonus tip: There are also 2 more "things" to get there. They both be in the same place. Make sure you get them to avoid coming back to this in later stages
