So then why not just arm9loaderhax into GWemuNAND, and when I want classic mode I just hop into HBL and load the GW Menu from there? Or is there an even better solution to getting GW Classic mode?

I want RedCart like normal. But I also want Classic mode for BlueCart, DSTwo, SKy3DS, etc.

So I just hold DOWN and boot into HBL on launch and then use the GW Menu from there... then just reboot. That I'm totally okay with. Or is there a better way of doing this? Because at this point it seems like autoboot menuhax is just.... overly complicated for what I need?

Sorry to hijack but i have a problem when using GW EmuNAND,

having trouble with H&S and FBI inject with banner app.

I used Decrypt9WIP and dumped the h&s app from my GW EmuNAND and did all the steps as required and got my FBI inject with banner app.

But after injecting the FBI with banner app, i can't launch the h&s app at all (Supposed to launch FBI right?)

So it says, the "The software could not be launched. Please download again from Nintendo eShop."

and i can't continue if i don't have FBI in my h&s app, help pls!

Sorry not really a advice for the H&S injection but why dont you put the FBI.3ds file onto your GW card and install the GW.cia to your Emunand?

Hey, sorry i don't get your last sentence. Install the GW.cia to my emunand? haha it seems that after i format my GW emuNAND, my installed cia will disappear so i need h&s to start FBI to install the plaisysupdater.

But if i can use the GW to launch FBI then maybe i don't have to do the injection into the FBI. Might be a great idea!

I'll wait around and listen to others regarding this. But what you suggested might be a valid workaround! Thanks man

Oh you want to format/delete your Emunand? Then my suggestions doesnt work.
(but even after formatting Emunand as long as you have access to your GWs .3ds games you can install FBI.cia that way)

and sorry for my English ;-)

You can go the A9LH route, I was just advising that you try out menuhax with a boot manager/auto-boot and see if you are satisfied with the boot time and boot rate.

Again, with arm9loaderhax you wouldn't need HBL. You can boot to what GW calls "classic" mode without even needing GW, and this is by using Luma3DS. You could then play your DS games, Sky3DS, and even the CIAs installed to your EmuNAND. I already mentioned this here.

So I just hold DOWN and boot into HBL on launch and then use the GW Menu from there... then just reboot. That I'm totally okay with. Or is there a better way of doing this? Because at this point it seems like autoboot menuhax is just.... overly complicated for what I need?

Using only menuhax auto-boot is not complicated. IIRC, you already installed menuhax the other day, so it's just a matter of launching menuhax_manager again an changing to "Type 2".

Even using a boot manager is not complicated. You'd just have to download the boot manager, copy the files to the SD card and follow that "how to auto-boot GW" tutorial and the snippet I gave.

My advice, since you seem a little bit confused:

• First, reconfigure menuhax to auto-boot and use just that
• If after some time you feel it's not a great experience, try the boot manager
• If that still feels not right, set arm9loaderhax up and I'm sure you'll be satisfied this time :)

Basically, baby steps. ;)

Well, at this point it looks like I don't have much choice.

I've tried re-installing Homewbrew Launcher from scratch. Only this time I did not format an emuNAND to mSD before doing so. I did make sure to format system memory and change the theme so I could copy the Nintendo3DS folder.

I proceeded to follow the guide for RedNAND setup, and basically I get up to launching Luma and I just get a black screen. I've even waited for 30mins on multiple occasions.

So at this point, I need to know how to re-install my GWemuNAND backup instead of RedNAND.

Not sure why RedNAND isn't working...

Maybe I should do a downgrade to 2.1 and then upgrade back to 9.2 since I had issues with my sysNAND before...

You are using Luma 5.5? If yes, try with an older version like 5.2 and tell me if it boots.

Probably just an issue with Luma5.5 & RedNAND. I've been seeing this a lot in the last days.

Not necessarily.

Use the iso cite for a full 9.2 update for your 3ds. Then use the cia form of sysupdater in pastacfw or in a sysnand cfw. Or in emunand. I cant tell what you are updating...
they've already updated to 9.2.0-20. also Plailect's guide is a better place to go for that.

Okay, so I replacd Luma3DS 5.5 with 5.2.

I checked that RedNAND was installed = YES.
Rebooted into Menuhax.
Launched Luma3DS. Selected to show current NAND. Pressed START and rebooted.
Held down on reboot and got back into MenuHax.
Launched Luma3DS.
Home screen appeared, went into settings...

I am now looking at Emu 9.2.0-20U.

Okay, Completed part 3 and can still get into Luma3DS which is now at 11.0.0-33U.
SysNAND is still 9.2.0-20U.

Moving onto part 4...

Using 7-zip...

Yup, that helped. It's downgrading now...

And the first NFIRM downgrade crashed to the infamous black screen error:
An Error has occurred.
Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again.

And.... the mSD crashed. Have to start all over again. But that got much further than before... will try again tomorrow.

So...??

If still using Luma3DS 5.2 (or any older than 5.5), you'll have to have the firmware.bin in the /luma folder. Look for it in the Luma wiki.

Okay, so I also gave up on using my 128GB mSD and went with my 32GB class 10 SDHC. I am now looking at 2.1.0-4U sysNAND.

I did have a black screen on the reboot so I took out SD card and then rebooted. But when I put the SD card back in, black screen. So right now I am looking at sysNAND 2.1.0 with SD card out... what should I do?

if you're following plailect's guide, you're supposed to put the SD back in once at the home menu, and go to http://dukesrg.github.io/2xrsa.html?arm11.bin in the browser. you'd see SafeA9LHInstaller.
