So is the moral of this story is to stay on as low of firmware as possible right?

I got a friend that's on 5.4 and he's been debating about moving up to 5.5.1.

Homebrew loader was updated yesterday with the latest exploit for 5.3.2+ that doesn't rely on race attacks

https://github.com/dimok789/homebrew_launcher/releases

Hosting the www files will boot HBL with a single click from which you can load other things like loadiine. Not sure why anyone would use anything else

I tried this config and when I load from ez share card: www/index.html I get:

"detected Wii U firmware 5.5.1" then

URL: ezshare.card/www/payload.php?sysver=550

and a page of PHP code that does nothing.

I am on 5.5.1 and 0 success ever booting any payload to date.

Halp?

I have no idea about wifi cards, sorry. But are you using a EUR console? I hear there is a problem with them for 5.5.1 exploit though I haven't been following the issue, so I can't help

I tried loading HBL that way (though by replacing the launcher.bin in the HaxServer packagewith the latest code550.bin), it worked once and then froze on a white screen 5-6 times in a row. I find loading kexploit10 first much more stable, it's worked every single time.
My success rate on 5.3.2 = +90%
on 5.5.1 = 0%
If you're loading from a remote host try selfhosting. I couldn't get it to work from a remote host.

You'll have to convert the payloads to mp4 to use them with the wifi card, since it doesn't have PHP support.
I believe you can use bin2mp4 to do this. https://gbatemp.net/threads/tool-bin2mp4.417414/
Then all you need to do is open the mp4 file on your Wii U.

There's a version of the new exploit for 5.3.2 that I've had 100% success rate with. No need to update, just replace your self hosted files with these.

Here, I threw together a simple single click launch set for all firmwares based on the latest loadiine and hbl nightly packages. HTML only, no fancy php or java shit needed.

I'm getting very low boot rates. Any chance someone with 100% boot rate on 5.5.1 could upload the web host files they used? None seem to work for me.

You must be doing something wrong, maybe you set it up incorrectly?
I have had no errors with it so far.

I'm self hosting on ez share wifi card. I have no idea why it just freezes and never works.

Cleared cookies, tried every payload550.mp4 I can find multiple times. Hard reset > soft reset > try again...

I'm even using known working SD cards that I use on 5.3.2 with no issue.

I'm stumped.

update to help others on 5.3.2 continually getting errors. Assuming you have a working, correctly formatted card, with all the files in the correct places..

Reset your internet browser by following this to the letter:

"Potential Fix #1:
1. Clear all settings in your browser (Cookies/User Names and Passwords/Save Data) and uncheck remember username/password.
2. Save the site you're trying to load as a favorite.
3. Exit Internet Browser
4. Reset your Wii U by powering off with the Game Pad.
5. Open the Internet Browser, it should have remembered the site you saved and load it automatically."

(I have it to use my internet start page as my start page, at first i used the wiiubru.com page as my start page which was slick but meant I couldn't browse the web on the wiiu!)

I then use wiiubru.com to load HBL and run Loadiine from there.

100% so far.

The rule actually should be to stay on as high a firmware version as possible that still allows all the exploits.

But I don't think there is anything significantly different between 5.3.2 and 5.5.1, so people really worried about it may as well stay on 5.3.2.

I played with this allot last night with 5.3.2 and had 100% boot rate out of probably 30 times I loaded games. Using the old method I probably got 60-70% sucess rate.

The only issue I had and might be normal is, I can't reload the payload to get back into Loadiine after loading a game and going back to home and then going back into the browser to re-enter loadiine. I have to physically turn the Wii U off then back on, and then it works fine.

Is that normal behavior?
