Hello,

I haven't updated my 3DS (v4.3) for a while and it's still on omega v2.7 with emunand on 8.1. I'm wondering what's the best way to have everything up to date from there and if there's any way to play .cia games.

Damn. Didnt think anyone still used the older FWs. Best bet is to get a New3DS System that has 9.0->9.2 and use the current MSET/DS Profile Exploit.

There is a way to upgrade the console to 9.2. You have to search for it on GBA temp. Then download the latest Gateway launcher.dat from gateway-3ds.com, and just copy-paste it to the SDcard. Then update emunand to latest,

You can then insall homemenuhax for emunand autoboot.

There are some great tutorials about all of this in the tutorial section.

Or just wait a few weeks with all of this, until Gateway releases the latest version with A9LH support, which is the latest trend in 3DS hacking.

An update for 3DS came out very recently.

Would it be safe to update Gateway's CFW to it yet? I've last updated it in November, so I may be out of date when it comes to booting certain games..

I, for one, use it daily. Faster and easier to just copy .3ds over opposed to installing CIA (and yes, CIAngel is slow as f.). Also, cheat support rules

Are there is any way of launching games which require firmware 9.9 or higher? I use GW 3.7.1 on 9.2E console, and don't use emunand (for the sake of risk avoiding). I can launch any game with firmware up to 9.8 with no problem, but all games which require firmware 9.9 that I tried to launch just give me endless loading screen.

there's no risk in creating an emunand

I recently updated to 9.2.0-9E I can enter gateway mode but only with the internet exploit, I can no longer use the bluecard -> settings -> profile method. Currently I am using 3.7.1 version

Get The HomeBrew Launcher and install HomeMenuHax then rename Gateway's GW.3dsx file too boot.3dsx and overwrite the one in root.

You can safely update emunand.

I'm planning to switch away from GW to CFW, i.e. The likes of Luma 3DS or RxT. Could I ask if there are any precautionary measures I have to take to not trigger the GW bricking mechanism on my device? Will a factory reset help..? On 4.3 firmware.

Just start with a fresh rednand. If you use Plaitec's guide, just do EVERY step.

hello, just downloaded the GATEWAY 4.0B PRIVATE BETA #2

How to i go to entry point again

I did this already

Copy the contents of the “Console SD” folder on to root of your consoles SD card.
Copy the contents of the “Red Card uSD” folder on to root of your GW Red Card uSD.

How i Boot into GATEWAY 3DS sysNAND mode for next step
