Make sure you're using the 10.2 firmware.bin and not 10.4, as it's not supported by NTR
I keep getting "current firmware not supported" on EmuNAND 10.5 with NTR 3.3. Tried both official and @Shadowtrance build..any ideas?

You're assuming he is using reiNAND. If he's using CakesFW it won't work, they're not interchangeable.
CakesFW decrypts the firmware on-the-fly whereas reiNAND needs it to be already decrypted.
Or perhaps it's the other way around?
Either way, one isn't compatible with the other.

Using the 10.2 one, ReiNAND wont even boot for me
I think only the 3.2 beta supports 10.4, is that the one you're using? If so, that's why the 10.2 firmware.bin isn't booting. You'll have to downgrade to 3.1 of you want to keep using reiNAND.
This is why I use CakesFW instead, you can swap in and out whichever firmware.bin you like using the file manager CTRXplorer.
At the moment there isn't really any need to be using 10.4 firm, I think only a couple of demos require it. If it is required by something of interest in the future I can just swap out my 10.2 firm.
So I tried Senran Kagura using a Gateway cart by booting NTR after choosing Senran Kagura on the GW OSD (since the OSD no longer works after booting NTR) and HOLY FUCK, the N3DS clock speed helps that game SO much, it's a HUGE difference. If only I could get the .CIA version to function with NTR..
