So... what does 0x00, 0x20, 0x08, 0x60, 0x70, 0x47 represent? I'm fairly certain that it has nothing to do with a version number (which makes me wonder what it actually is and why it needed to be changed when the lastest firmware was upped to 9.7)

Is anybody working on the new values or is it possible that when Nintendo released 9.8, they also changed something on the eshop server-side to prevent this kind of spoof from working again (like a specific and/or encrypted response required to get a token or something...)

I tested this before 9.8 came out but...
Worked with my O3DS XL FW 9.2 EU, it didn't work with my N3DS XL FW 9.0 AUS EU so far.
I really want to do a system transfer with this! I guess i need to have them both with the same firmware first or are they compatible to transfer the NNIND?

Well, don't I feel sheepish. It does still work. Before I figured out that the patch had nothing to do with patching a version number into memory, and because the patch had already been changed at least once before, I just assumed that it would need a change for the new update. When I came here, the top of this page mentions an issue when 9.8 came out. Hadn't even tried myself until just now because I was busy and began looking into it while at work so I didn't have anything to test with...

I was referring to system transfer not working, eshop works still and system transfer worked the night before

I didn't system transfer the night before; I simply had it boot to the part where it asks if it's the host or target to show someone how to do it. Now before I can even get to that part it says there's an update and I need up upgrade before continuing

If anyone wants to try entering system transfer on N3DS without it asking for an update after spoofing, you'll see exactly what we mean about it not working. Eshop is still accessible through spoofing on N3DS, just not the system transfer.

But on O3DS, both eshop and system transfer works fine.

motezazer what will happen if I boot this while Pasta CFW is already running?
Can I boot this via Brahma or do I have to use the Spider exploit?

Edit: works on top of Pasta CFW, I'm not bricked and I can use the eShop and Save Data Transfer.

I think it's worth making a note of that if you do this for a system transfer from old to new 3DSs, when given the option choose to use the pc for transferring your data. I made the mistake of first choosing wirelessly which both would have been slow and also stopped transferring data quickly. consequently I had to reset and do the pc method which did work, unfortunately, some of the apps and games were corrupted and they had to be reinstalled, not a big deal as most data did transfer, just a slight cautionary tale to avoid having to reinstall any thing after a system transfer done this way.

I have an old 3ds xl on 9.0.0-20U and was able to use this method to access the eshop and download dlc from in-game before, but was prompted to update when I tried to get on the eshop today. The theme shop and miiverse work fine, though. I tried the cold boot->turn off wifi->load site->turn wifi back on, but the eshop still wanted me to update. Can someone help me out, please?

Hopefully I was just doing something wrong and it still works... I just want to download my Humble Bundle games.

EDIT: Wow, I had been trying for a couple of days before I posted and now it suddenly works. Funny how stuff works out. Thanks.
Next time do a cold boot->Apply patch->Exit broswer and wait a few seconds->Apply patch again->enter eShop. This seems to work more often. I failed once out of six times, normally I fail 4-5/6 times. It's annoying. (But at least you can eventually get to the eShop, unlike out of date PS Vitas. :( )

Yes. Do I just press enter after typing this? Does the 3ds need to be in the sdcard wireless management application?
The debugging client just sits there as though it is notepad.

No it just has to be sitting on the main screen after you boot into NTR mode.

And make sure the debugger is enabled on the 3ds side, Press X and Y to bring up the menu then select enable debugger and press A.

Then on the PC side type... connect("192.168.1.xxx", 8000) replacing "192.168.1.xxx" with IP address of your 3ds.
And it should say...
null
Server Connected.

Then you can continue with whatever you're doing. :)

Make sure you're entering it in the proper box at the bottom, not with the printed text. I made that mistake when I first did this.
