Aha! Thanks. I had that forwarder channel at one time back when I first hacked my Wii (very likely because I used ModMii), but I didn't use a USB loader at the time and eventually deleted it.

I've just installed HBC and BootMii (boot2) on 4.3u using the softmod any wii guide on wiihacks. When I tryed to load the homebrew channel, it is stuck in an infinite loading loop. Can I turn it off and on again to try and fix it?

So I'm looking to get a fresh start with Wii hacking once more. I just dug up this old GBATemp account and I used to be into the whole Wii hacking scene years back. I just pulled my Wii out of the closet and plugged it in, after it had been sitting for years. Right now it has a WBFS formatted hard drive with games on it, an old version of WiiFlow to play the games, and I believe it has a bunch of custom IOS's installed.

I'm assuming everything's outdated, so how can I basically wipe the entire system clean and update my Wii to the latest official firmware? Also is the latest official Wii firmware hackable so that if I want to, I can get my games on the hard drive up and running once again?

Yes. Typically it is not recommended to system update though. Get ModMii, and run through the "First Time Hacking" Setup. It will update your firmware for you SAFELY and update everything you have that is outdated.

If you need details (but you probably will not, ModMii is very straightforward) PM me or post here again,

I just soft modded a Wii that I acquired. It had v3.2E on it. HackMii would always hang at the disclaimer so I ended up updating to 4.3 and using LetterBomb. Everything seems ok except I can't get any sort of emunand working. I modded using modmii. Neek2o always hangs in nswitch and booting wiiware from emunand in wiiflow results in a black screen. I've been tearing my hair out trying everything.

Im extremely new to the wii and I got one from a friend for my little girl. It's very used, 4.3u and its modded. It has something called backup loader gamma 03 on it (that just gives me a black screen) but no homebrew channel on it. The SD card has the twilight hack on it (from what I understand is old). I did some reading up on this forum and was wondering if I could just erase the SD card with the old hack files on it, and letterbomb the console just to get homebrew on it... or do I have to start from scratch?

Didn't want to update because it's running the latest 4.3 but all it will play is game discs which my little girl doesn't have many of. Just need a few noob pointers.
Thanks to anyone that can help.

I'm having a noob issue and have no idea what to do with it. I have a homebrew app that I would like to run on my wii. It actually does run. The trouble is that when I start it up, the wiimote physically powers down, leaving me unable to give the app any inputs. The searching I have done, revealed very little except that it's probably a problem with my ios 36. The suggested fix was to use dop mii to uninstall whatever cios i have, since apparently that's the real problem. But dop mii also has the wiimote-shuts-off-and-i-have-no-way-to-give-inputs problem, leaving me unable to fix the issue. I've also seen a suggested workaround in using the wii's physical Power and Reset buttons as arrow and select buttons in the menu of the app, but mine are definitely still mapped to Power and Reset. Also heard a suggestion of using a GC controller, but I'm on a black wii which has no GC controller ports. So I'm guessing that I need a way to fix the ios without running an app that assumes it's already working. I have another app (that actually works) whose startup always talks about detecting ios 36 and then it spends like 15 seconds saying it's applying patches to it. This app also loses wiimote connectivity, but only until it says that it's done applying those patches. Then the wiimote comes back and works beautifully. But other apps that don't bother to patch it before using it, just lose the wiimote connectivity. So what is the best road to a solution here?

Hey guys - i've been having this issue and I can't find anywhere the solution for it.

Basically I have a PAL Wii and i'm trying to run a few GameCube (via Nintendont and DIOS MIOS) NTSC games like Tales of Symphonia (PAL runs in 50hz - no thanks). Anyway the game launches and has a full Red color all over it. I've read that this is because Wii is forced into another color system and simply cannot display the proper color over a SCART cable. Has anyone been able to fix this using a software method of any kind? I've tried forcing PAL60 - doesn't work. MPAL gives the same result. Cheers.

Im trying to use Close2Insanity's MAME forwarder, but when I try to actually enter the emulator itself, I'm met with a black screen causing me to have to hard reset. Anyone have a fix?

Havent touched the Wii in over TWO years!
Got all the latest USB Loader and stuff.

I got WBFS files. What do I format my USB HDD to and what folder do I make to put the games in?
Dont wanna use any manager and bullcrap, just wanna copy paste the files.

Keep in mind I got Xenoblade Chronicles! Sizes bigger than 4GB!

Use WiiBackupManager ONCE to get all those Games off your HDD. After they are all off your HDD, Format the HDD to NTFS, default clusters.

Use WiiBackupManager ONE time to learn the Folder > Game layout, after that you can just cleanly drag-and-drop on your own!

You need to have a wbfs folder on the root of the HDD, then you put the "[GAME ID]" folders into the wbfs folder

I already got the games off the HDD.
So I format the HDD to NTFS and copy the WBFS files on the root of the HDD? OR do I create a "games" / "game" folder?

Cheers

HDD > wbfs > [game folderX] > gameX.iso OR gameX.wbfs [sometimes gameX.wbf1 gameX.wbf2]

I figured this would be the best thread to post this question. If not, sorry about it.

Recently, I have found my old white GC memory card, the one that can hold 1019 blocks of data. I have a lot of save data on it, and I'd like to replay some of the games from it on there. The problem however, is that it is corrupt for the most part.

By the most part, I mean that a few games still have their save data intact and are fully playable, but other games will not read the save file and say stuff like "This file is corrupted, delete it" etc.

I've tested Pokemon XD, Colosseum, Melee, StarFox Adventures and Luigi's Mansion. The first four did not work, but Luigi's Mansion seems to be intact.

There are other game save data on the card, but I haven't tested those games out yet. But anyway, onto my question, is it possible to "un-corrupt" those save files? I'd really like to not lose such data on the games, as they are special to me. I'm almost positive there would be a program I could use on the Homebrew channel that would help me out.

If all else fails, is there a way to just completely format the card altogether and make sure it'll work from there? I don't think the conventional "delete all the save files from the card" would work.

If it helps any, the GC memory card is Nintendo brand, not a third party one.

Thanks.

Hi I bought a second hand wii for my niece, and I have the homebrew channel installed and wiiflow channel installed. When I go to install games on wiiflow I don't have enough blocks. For example I am trying to install 'Mad Dog McCree' from an original disc and it says "Not Enough Space: 441 6602 1 12 blocks needed, 295007 available.

My calculations this is about 40GB I have available.

Here's the Syscheck if that helps at all;

Whenever I start my Wii with the SD card inside I get no picture and the disc slot flashes light. It works if I take it out, start it and put it back in though.

What could it be?

I deleted android secure (nothing was in it), MCBACKUP just has gamecube saves, LOST.DIR I deleted. What is it?
