False. Gamepad, Pro, and Gamecube controller (using official USB adapter and unofficial HID to VPAD) all have input lag AKA worse lag than native games and worse lag than unofficial emulators.

I'm talking about the one that hooks to the wiimote

There's no emulator without input lag unless you use that recent feature on Retroarch

If you feel really bad about the input lag you could try Wii64 Rice with unlocked CPU from FIX's github. OFC it will upscaled to 480p instead of the superior WiiU's VC 1080p

I've tested the following widescreen patches by gamemasterplc on official Wii U N64 Virtual Console games and they are all working on real hardware with the adjusted FrameLayout (filter removed + widescreen aspect ratio) of course:

Super Mario 64 60fps + widescreen (by Kaze Emanuar + gamemasterplc, more info here)
F-Zero X (note: there's also a borderless patch as I linked to earlier in the thread but that doesn't function properly on VC)
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Mario Party 2
Paper Mario
Mario Kart 64

There are more patches for other games in the form of gameshark codes so if anyone knows how to convert those to ips/xdelta or how to apply them correctly in the config.ini please let us know!

Why don't you guys use the og releases, purchased or whatever. Ogre Battle is on the EUR eshop

No reason other than testing, I haven't used the eShop in months, but it was something I wanted to point out nonetheless. What's odd is that the config file for Hybrid Heaven, force-enabled mempak emulation (and works perfectly), but fails on Mystical Ninja 64, both Konami games. If someone can force it to work on that, the game would be playable more than using save states. I don't live in the EU, so I couldn't get the EU version, now could I?

@ShadowOne333, is there a guide on how to dump the VC games, and then decrypt them on here?

I mean

You could have downloaded it from Wii U USB helper before that key site closed, it should be somewhere else to download, too

Using another game as a base is fine and dandy, but if the game has been actually published i don't see the point aside of testing.

It's not relevant to the discussion anyway so i'll stop before derailing. I just didn't understand.

Well, I can't use Wii U USB help now, can I? Sure, I could do that way, but I've no recollection on how to dump it myself as decrypted folders, so...

Well sooooo sorry for derailing, oy vey.

I'll make sure to dump it if i buy it (I have the intention to do so) and if there's a way to do so. It shocked me a little, since it's a reasonably famous N64 game, and I was published here for the first time in the Wii U VC just like Harvest Moon 64 (Neither Ogre Battle nor Harvest Moon 64 were released originally in Europe)

Yeah, that one title site shutting down was a PITA. Wanted to test more games.

The Wii Pro controller, as in the Wii Classic controller with nubs? Are you saying that both the Wii Pro and Wii Classic controllers exhibit noticeably different (less) input lag in N64 Wii U Virtual Console than the Wii U controllers? You're the first person I've heard on the entire Internet say this. Hilariously sad if it's true. But better than nothing...?

False. A correct emulator will be exactly the same as the original console, synchronized exactly at the frame-level, since HDMI delivers frames, not scanlines. Plus, re-read what I said. I was comparing emulators to emulators. Wii U output to Wii U output. Apples to apples.

Hi guys, I can finally do this, but then I still have some questions.
The virtual console of the Wii U still how it all has this problem with filter, or only the one of the N64?
With the lag input, I think the DK64 is one of the unique ones compared to VC of the Wii, it would be better to invest in the Wii that has no problem with filter and input lag (really no problem?) Or play with the Gamepad compensates more What input lag ??

This removes the filter on games that work.

Now if we can only get rid of that stupid point-sample interpolation in Rare game injections. Why on earth they implemented this garbage audio in it, is anyone's guess. I reiterate once more that the real N64 hardware didn't even have it in the RSP
It wasn't in that microcode, but it did exist.

It's used with headphone sound in a couple first-party games.

May I ask why? Was it to save on resources/CPU power to help with performance? IMHO, it kinda ruins the quality no? I've played the game on real hardware and it sounds nothing like that. To me it just seems like lazy emulation on Nintendo's part, and the sad thing is, there'll never be an emulator on Wii U that emulates the audio properly. I'm sorry, but, I fail to see the reasoning behind Nintendo's implementing it.

I'd be more than happy to run some ABX testing to prove it.
