I searched but saw nothing so here goes:

I have a few Japanese CIAs that installed correctly, but when run they give a system error that causes the system to restart.

My system is a US New 3DS on A9LH+Luma 6.6(?) and system firmware 11.2. It runs Japanese physical carts with no issue.

I think it's something with the region, do you just need a configuration file or something to make it run the cia files as a jp system?

I double checked and apparently the one game started working for me (Sega 3d fukkoku archives). The game that fails is tobidase doubutsu no mori amiibo+ (Japanese version of animal crossing new leaf: welcome amiibo edition). It gets to the train loading animation and then crashes.

Hey, just wondering, if Im using the dsiware injection method, with a target 3ds being 11.6.0, is it alright if the other 3ds has an older firmware version? Thanks

Hi guys,
I had to return my 3DS to the store and they replaced it with a model that has FW 11.2

I have seen the guide to Installing boot9strap and I have previously ordered a Gateway 3DS flash card (which is currently on its way… they didn’t sell the R4i’s)
So my questions are:

1. Should I go ahead with the boot9strap update or should I wait for the flash card?

2. What is the difference between doing the update and using the flashcard?

3. Can I use them together?

4. Can I play 3Ds roms using boot9strap?

5. How does updating the device firmware work once I install boot9strap or use the flashcard?

1. You should install b9s and return the gateway if possible.

2. If you mean installing b9s by "doing the update" Gateway has a cheat menu and uses .3ds roms. With b9s you can install games directly to home menu to act just like legit eShop games, use Homebrew, rom hacks, custom themes and a lot more

3. Yes, but it really doesn't give a lot of advantage compared to running b9s only. I think there's a link to a guide in the first post of this thread.

4. You can convert .3ds roms to cia and install them or install the games directly from freeshop

5. With boot9strap you can update to 11.6 without losing any functionality. With gateway you can only use up to 11.2

It will be factory reset on the system transfer part but the guide will tell you to back up and restore, so it'll be the same as before except that the nnid will be stuck on the target unless you call Nintendo and tell them you lost the target 3ds.

Hi all,

I did a Friends old XL I think I used the method before the current one, anyways he’s reset the console and everything’s gone. What’s my best way to get it back up and running?

Cheers

Does it show a Luma version on top of the screen if he holds select while booting? What version is it?

Is there a way to change the image that shows up on flash carts when loaded on the 3DS? Mine shows SpongeBob so I want to change it to GTA to be more fitting. Joking but the option would be nice.

I think it's not possible because either it's hardcoded or you need to reprogram the entire card

I have a flashcard (see image) that I would like to use with NTRboot but I don't know if it works or not and I don't want to break it...

Thanks for any help!

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC

    they sorta are a pc

They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik

but its a custom os for both of them

so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

    Probably combined in one chip

They place married security chips onto boards iirc
