This is so disrespectful it's unbelievable.
Can't wait for all the Switch devs to leave the scene because everybody that is a consumer is so disrespectful and feels entitled to something they wouldn't have otherwise.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Asshole devs, dangling carrots in front of us. "Ooooh, look at what I can do and you can't."
Also: if you feel they are dangling carrots, go and grow your own.

Maybe. Or maybe we'd like to use a $300 console. I agree with this statement:

It is probably best to update because eventually a hack will catch up. Every firmware is not without its flaws.
Besides, maybe by that time I will be ready to softmod my Switch.
Dude there's is no guarantee that a new exploit will be found on the highest fw, and don't worry soon or later we are gonna use our switch, and with homebrew in it too.

But that is the problem. I don't understand people. Even when you get the exploit, you will not be able to update your Switch because (as far as the community knows) emuNAND isn't possible yet! That means you will have to do some convoluted stuff to play online and/or play new games. It just isn't worth it for what I know will be made for homebrew.

You're right. There is no guarantee, but every firmware has it's flaws. Hell, There have been times on the 3DS where the most recent firmware is exploitable, and I don't doubt it will be the same on the Switch. And early homebrew access isn't what I want, because then I will be disappointed that I waited so long for a simple snake game.

It pisses me off. They're like children. Not all of them, but most of them.

Let me just grow my own carrots... learn some C++, console architecture, dig though documentation, go on shady IRC channels and try to pull bread crumbs out of other devs with pliers, earn their trust so they'll eventually share some "hints"... yeah, mkay...

Explain to me how they are like children. Showing off what they've accomplished? That is hardly child-like. Some devs, yeah. They are really a piece of work. Such as derrek when Boot9Strap was released. He hadn't released sighax but the same day that Boot9Strap was released, he released sighax and we all know how that turned out.

They are trying to build a user-friendly CFW/exploit, and ungrateful bitches like you are the reason that devs leave.

You obviously know nothing about development. An exploit has been found but this doesn't mean it can be produced every time. In my opinion they should release the exploit so whiny kids like you will brick your switch as the code isn't refined enough yet.

Where is the option to regularly keep on updating, and trusting that exploits will eventually drop for later FWs as well, and if they never do, oh well, still love my Switch whether I can hack it or not?

Cuz that's the option I fall into.

As mentioned earlier, it was planned that this 2-part survey shall not have different options. Sorry about that, but this is to keep consistent with the data that I'm gathering, and to help me save a lot of headaches on what to do with the data.

The best option for you is Option #2, because you are always updating.

Well i suppose that's a good way to not get a real good full picture of what is really happening in our scene here.

I will stay on low firmware there's only only 2 games I'm interested in and that's Zelda and Mario o but mario o isn't a game I would upgrade for and so far none in the upcoming lineup are games I wanna play. That said I would upgrade immediately when a new core pokemon or monster Hunter came to it.
