So, I found out what was triggering Avira. It was 3dstool.exe. USB Helper probably gets the latest version, which is to blame (I confirmed previous versions are safer). Is there any way I can configure it to use a previous version, or maybe one I have in my pc? Command line software are my true nemesis, so using the standalone is a huge challenge, and I'd love to sit back and watch USB Helper do all the hard work (as it's meant to do anyway). Thanks!
No unfortunately the latest version is needed since it adds the required decryption capabilities.
I've submitted false positive reports regarding 3dstool.exe and hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.
In the meantime you can always manually add it to your exception list.

What was the original definition? Were you using DPI scaling?

Yeah the actual culprit was using a larger text size. My screen resolution is 1920 x 1080, but I always set my Display text size to Medium - 125%. Setting it to Smaller - 100% (default) makes the check boxes appear in the correct position, without changing resolution.

Just a heads up, I have received a reply from Avira. They told me the file has been analyzed and deemed safe by their lab. It shouldn't be detected anymore so long as you have the latest virus definitions.

I see. Unfortunately it's kind of a known issue. Winforms, which I use to design the app, doesn't always play nice with DPI scaling.

Two people I know seem to get an problem where the app won't fully display the text so it's hard to know what the buttons say. Is this a known issue?

Hopefully I'm in the right place. Been using Wii U USB Helper for a few days, and it's been great. However, this morning I'm suddenly getting this error when clicking Play This Game for BotW (which I've been playing up until last night with no problems):

Edit: Actually, it also happens with Mario Maker. After I click Play This Game, it says "USB Helper is fetching some additional files" and then I get this error when the bar fills up.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Update: I think I have USB Helper and (different versions of) Cemu installed in several places, so it's probably my fault it's not working properly. In the meantime, while going through my files I realized I can just start Cemu directly and load U-King.rpx

Sorry for the trouble.

I tried opening the program a minute ago, and got hit with an error, and manually going to the address that the application is trying to update from gives me a 500 Internal Server Error. Is something going on?

Please try with v352 of the app, I have fixed an error which could trigger this under certain circumstances.

Everything seems to be working fine here, it probably was a small network issue coming from the provider. Please tell me if you are still experiencing this

Does anyone know about backing up the downloads folder? Would that contain everything needed if I wanted to load the games into a new install of Wii U USB onto a different computer and install them onto the same Wii U if it were put back to stock and then re Hacked?

Great app! I'm totally amazed at all the useful features!!! Outstanding!!! Flawless Victory!!!

"Cannot continue. The application is improperly formatted. Contact the application vendor for assistance."

I do not know why Wii U USB Helper should need to use Internet Explorer to parse something... Are you using a setup or updater file ?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Or... just go to the official website wiiuusbhelper.com which has direct links.

Since some persons like me had some problems starting Wii U USB Helper, why not put the updater and the setup.exe (you gaved me via PM) as a "If WU USB Helper didn't start, please try this one"

Is there any way to clean the system of all traces of the app? I can run the program after installing it with the setup.exe you sent me, but I have to install it every time I want to launch it as it still complains that there is another copy of the app running
