Due to an early leak of Sonic Mania in which a user was able to successfully redeem their collectors edition digital code on the Switch early and live stream the game; SEGA have responded by posting the intro animation to the game slightly ahead of schedule. Although the full launch trailer is still due to go live Monday 14th alongside the lifting of the review embargo, if you wish to you can watch the animation in the video above or on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel.

Sonic Mania is launching on Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 15th and we will be livestreaming our first playthrough on the GBAtemp Twitch channel.

The delay I don't mind, but the PR is by far the worst thing. The delay announcement couldn't have come at a worse time. They're effectively screwing over their PC market. And the leaks don't make it easier either. I can't cancel out of my Steam preorder for the limited edition because it's not in stock for the other consoles. I might just have to bite the bullet and grab an Xbox or PS4 code of it.

Yeah, that's BAD news for PC users like me. I need to wait 2 weeks, but the fun will be already killed because of those leaks.
