Do you have AdBlock on? If that's the case, pause or disable it and refresh the page. I also had black screen from youtube just like you a few mins ago and Adblock was the culprit.
So pissed, can no longer shrink YouTube video player and I get a black screen for all videos!

I'm not sure if you are still around, but I just found out youtube made a new update recently about his UI. You can click on your profile icon on the top right and press "Restore Classic Youtube". Who knows if that's going to fix your problem.

Is the default sized youtube player too big for you? Because if it is, the only solution to making it smaller is zooming out. If you don't want to do that, get used to the size of the player because it ain't changing and it isn't Google's fault. It's your fault for being used to a player smaller than the default player size.

Google has ruined support for a plugin that has lots of security risks 5 years ago and that does not fit to my individual needs and does not support my 50 unofficial userscripts for the flash version of youtube.
Look, use a youtube flash player extension then try resizing it. Or zoom out of the page.

I can't tell if this is a troll thread and I won't look through every page; try youtube proxies (like this http://www.proxy-youtube.com ) or youtube from other countries (via another proxy set in a different country like this https://hide.me/en/proxy ) and you'll notice the player looks different.
