Why are you complaining about a CFW you don't even use? This is the NOOB proof CFW, granted past few updates have been anything but. The point is to take control away instead of give massive control like Corbenik. It's open source, anyone is free to fork it and gut Rosalina or whatever they please.
I am not complaining, I am explaining my reason for an option that should be an option.

Most of the time I forget Rosalina is even baked in, because other than seeing it the first time, I never really used it since. The interesting thing is how improvement is highly possible and it's just a waiting game, and as far as the option to disable it, with my usage habits of the 3DS, it basically is disabled to me, I just never use it, and not using it hasn't had any negative effect. Your suggestion doesn't suck, but now reading the ability to use the legacy branch's boot.firm (that doesn't have Rosalina) to chainload the version that has it, does sound a bit like an enable/disable option. Boot with it enabled (by default), or boot with it disabled, necessitating the use of the chainloader.
I mean, you aren't wrong. It's still an obtuse method to disable/enabling it. But it seems like more effort to maintain two builds over working on enabling/disabling a feature.

Then go the simple route. Leave it on and iron out the bugs. The temporary fix would be the two branches.. But it's running in the background, where you won't notice it unless you push the button combo.

Adding an option to disable it apparently will take a bit more work. Aside from bugs that can be fixed, what reasons are there? "I don't want it" isnt a viable excuse. At that point you're better off finding a different CFW. It's actually mind boggling how the community thinks it can control what options should and shouldn't be.

There's still ReiNAND, which is actually what I am running (coupled with a private CFW.)
But I always argue against forced options when, especially an option that they aren't even attempting to give the user a choice on the the matter. Sure they made a legacy version, but that only add another version of the same CFW to maintain. It would be one thing if they were looking into making it optional (or at least publicly saying they are,) it's another when the answer is just a flat no.
Some features that were previously implemented in loader (3ds injector), or in "main" Luma, although with limitations (language emulation via loader had known incompatibilities with few games, ARM11 exceptions had very limited space they could use because they used padding in Kernel11) were reimplemented in a better way within Rosalina (language emulation specifically uses a completely different approach, instead of patching the game for the desired region, interprocess communication hooking in Rosalina makes it possible to spoof the response to the game when it asks for the console region). The GPU protection svc which was stubbed by patching the kernel is now "stubbed" via Rosalina as it hooks the svc table, same for adding "CFWInfo" (the svc used by Luma Updater and stuff) and svcBackdoor. Disabling Rosalina in 8.0+ means fully disabling language emulation and then you get people complaining it doesn't work and all those important features (NTR and other homebrew wouldn't work without svcBackoor FWIW), or making a mess to maintain both approaches to *everything* in the code.
It's not as easy as you think.

@Aurora Wright
The Luma 8.0 is working perfectly on my two 3DS (old 3DS XL and New 3DS XL), there were only two errors. One error was in the NTR that appeared when using the restart function, the other error happened in the Freeshop when trying to use QR-CODE. After giving the errors listed, I deleted and reinstalled the applications and the errors were gone.

Thank you for your attention.

Yes, i i made up my mind and switched EmuNAND to SysNAND, just need to reformat my SD (after making a backup) and i'm done :P
After updating B9S v1.0 to V1.2 and Luma v8.0 i decided i no longer need emunand (yes i could have done it earlier)

And best part, i did it all with GodMode9 instead of using Decrypt9 (i still love using over GM9, but i just wanted to try it in GM9)

Hmmz, maybe i put my old 9.2 sysnand to emunand :D instead of removing emunand fully :P

Did I asked you to apologize ? I don't think.
As already said in my last post, no offense. I was just pointing out the way you decided to write and post your messages in a public forum concerning a free CFW.

Feel free to ignore me and continue acting like you do.

By the way, I'm not going to taunt you. Even if you seem to like doing it to me.
Every CFW is free besides GateWay. Noone uses it, though. I'm not trying to taunt you. I'm trying to prove you wrong, since I HAD motive to write in that style.

So I'm going to ask for this thread to be closed, for assistance with Luma you can go to the Nintendo Homebrew Discord server: https://discord.gg/MjzatM8 , and if you need to contact me for any reason I'm Aurora Wright#9538 on Discord.
I'd like to thank everyone who expressed their support to me via private messages over time, sorry if I skimmed over some of those, I rarely open my DMs because of the large amount of support requests.
I'm also glad for those who were helped to be themselves by my blog post (I myself was by another blog post on this forum years ago, and I wanted to "give that back").
As for the reason, I'll just say that I don't like what this site has become recently. And no, it's not referring to anyone specific. Recent events and looking at the revised guidelines for reporting posts were what convinced me but I had been considering it for a while by now.

Well, you could at least reach the page number 1000 xD Just Kidding. Well, thanks for everything you've done for Luma. See you on Discord :yay3ds:

Perfect decision. With 992 pages on this thread it was getting an obvious overkill when also taking GBATemp's pretty bad search algorithm into account, especially compared to that of Discord. Discord is a perfect medium for support and I wish you and everyone else the best of luck.
