Do you mean there is no way to find an audio file of those jingles or just that they are impossible to find in the rom when you dump it?
The jingles and things like that are in one big file, and when something that requires that jingle happens (i.e. catching a bug), the game calls that big file and finds the jingle and plays it. So no, you cannot change it.

I thought that you could change it using something like the Every File Explorer but i guess not. I really love the item jingle in the GCN AC.

How did you get the rainy day theme without the rain though? As far as I know, it's impossible to mute the rain in the GCN game so it will always be there no matter what you do to get rid of it.

AFAIK the GC version format is unknown at this point. SubDrag's N64 Soundbank Tool can grab the midi + sound samples from Doubutsu no Mori. Volume/panning on some channels aren't entirely correct and need to be fixed along with some of the samples, too.

Also, I forgot how trippy and drunk the Harvest Festival song sounded in this game. It's kinda creepy. Seeing how some of the villagers get drunk however (yes, that's in an Animal Crossing game), it's no surprise. It always bothered me how kid friendly New Leaf tried to be. They toned down the Harvest Festival a lot (originally, it portrayed Tortimer as a cannibal and had drunk villagers daning to the music but now Franklin runs the event and just cooks food while everyone else cooks their own food and asks you for ingredients) as well as some of the villager dialog (some villagers would straight up call you an idiot in the GCN games and Wild World, but now they are all nice to you). Heck, Gracie called the player a redneck in Wild World.
Oh... Oh god... I'm glad the Harvest Festival was the one day I missed ever.

Is this one louder than the other? The volume is pretty low on the music :(
Give me a list of tracks that seem very low to you. I will rework them in an audio editor and update links

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Tested this and loved it, will there be a City Folk/Wild World pack?
already planning a release for city folk or wild world.

@Jouzai

Here's all the tracks I ripped from when I was working on a similar project. They're ripped from the N64 version, but they're the exact same as the GCN tracks. The only thing that needs to be done is apply a universal 4.7 tempo increase to all of them. It's missing things like the Able Sisters, Harvest Festival, etc. because those tracks didn't exist in the normal game. If anybody wants to record GCN-exclusive tracks using standard audio equipment, it should be noted that opening the inventory menu will cancel all sound effects (ie: Able Sisters sewing machine), so you can record properly.

I don't know why people are having issues with the volume. All of them aren't so quiet and are at the same volume for me (except for 11PM, but that seems intentional considering that it's a quiet song in the first place).

That doesn't effect the rainy day theme though (and the rain isn't a part of the music).

I'll look it over and see what I can do with them. Thanks for the information.

Some people are having issues but regardless but ill still fix if it's a big problem.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
