Open the hakchi folder manager and do the next: put the 30 original games at the root menu (out of any folder) and then your custom folders at left of the 30 original games will always have the 2P icon and the others at the rigth side become 1P. When you finish the process, move the 30 original games to a folder if you want. That works to me. Sorry for mi bad english.

In Retroarch, go to quick menu/controller settings. There is an option called change side b at fds games. You have to select a button of your controller (B button, for example) and save the change settings at retroarch. So, when a fds game ask you for b side, just press B button.

Cool. Another Retroarch question. Is there any way to save the video and controller settings for each game ? I get one game in it's correct ratio, but when I try to play another game, it uses the previous game's settings....and so do all other games.

use 'save core overides' under '>quick menu' for system changes or specific per game changes with 'save game overides'

Does retroarch have any sort of crt filters ? I see a menu that says something like Video Filters but don't understand it.

Will that work for controller input changes, too ? I have to change a button to make the character jump in Ghosts And Goblins arcade game. But the next time I go to that game, I have to do the changes all over again.

'save game override' for that

If it's from each game, I wouldn't ask you in the first place. What I mean, "2P" on the platform folder (e.g. GBA folder, SNES folder, etc). I always get "1P" only, although the games contained in that folder are mixed of 1Ps and 2Ps.

====================================

"The Wii Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, the Wired Fight Pad, and the Battle Pad can be used with the NES Classic Edition as a second controller for 2-player games only."

(Source: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17341/~/which-controllers-are-compatible-with-the-nes-classic-edition?)

I want to finalize the above verdict before purchasing the Hori Battle Pad (poke @ByteThis). Does it mean that it can't be used for the first controller for either 1 or 2-player games? Is it maybe because of the unremoved screws? What about for non-NES/retroarch-used games? Anyone using the Battle Pad for their NESCE here??

I have 2 Wii Pro Controllers..they both work in 1 player and 2 player games..is no difference..even work with 2 players simultaneously EG: Metal Slug..Cadillacs and Dinosaurs ..Double Dragon and many others my friend!

Peeps are using Wii classic controllers as well no problem..

Buy the Hori...I bet you wont have any trouble with it..Sometimes I think development in companies have nerds and not gamers..hahaha

Found a new version of hakchi2 - Release Candidate version 2.16 on a diff forum:

http://clusterrr.com/temp/hakchi2_v2.16_rc3.zip

This is what he states for changes:

far spread only here. Of the new (apart from minor fixes, and translations into other languages), all that you will see in the "Tools" menu:
  • saves manager (export, import, delete)

  • FTP server - for easy transfer of files, you can examine and edit system can sdampit games that come by default, you can edit the config files and so forth.

  • Telnet server - well, this is for advanced users. In conjunction with the FTP allows you to easily create fashion and learn the system without the need to solder UART cable.

Yes, I've finally ordered it, my friend. Can't wait to try it out. Ever since 3DS was released, I've been a HORI fan. Hopefully I won't be disappointed with this.

I had one of these but returned it. Button placement was weird and the buttons are at different heights. Good news was that it worked right out of the box. Cord was a smidge longer than original classic controller.

What do you mean by "weird"? Face buttons are similar with GameCube controller. To be honest, I have no clue about the best controller to purchase. I can't rely on Wii Classic/Pro Con anymore (had one but didn't work), I have GameCube controller but afraid if an adapter will make it worked. All I know, HORI never lets me down so far. I hope I won't regret it.

Okay, first post, been lurking for a while modding my NESC as I went along. I have been adding a lot of games to my NESC across all formats - I have ridge racer ps1 ripped to go on (cannot find anymore ps1 ripped files!) - apart from that, my main problem is currently no save state on SNES games. The folder has 30 in, so will try and half it. Any suggestions otherwise?

Any idea on how to get a few arcade games to work ? Berzerk plays, but there's no sound. Pac-man doesn't play at all. Dig Dug doesn't play. Bosconian doesn't play. Galaga doesn't work. Mortal Kombat plays, but the sound pops a bit. And Space Invaders plays but there's no sound.

I was able to get Donkey Kong to have sound. The samples for Space Invaders are in the same place as the ones for Donkey Kong but they don't work. Any ideas ?

Other than these few games, the nes/snes/genesis/ and other arcade games work fine.

Its sad Nintendo was sitting on a gold mine here.. and just discontinued it. Even for "modding" with basic emulators. This sucker was selling. Granted guess that would replace the need for VC titles on the switch unless they add online MP for retro games.
