So recently I've made some bad mistakes and got my save locked out of my pokemon moon game because the secure value doesn't match. I hear that the way to bypass this is to simply delete the secure value of your save file, but the problem with that is most of the methods to do it involve using programs that require a CFW enabled 3ds to install, which after the 11.3 update is no longer possible. Is it possible to bypass this problem with just homebrew? or if not find some other way to bypass it?

How did you mess up the secure value in the first place?

Does JK save manager work for pokemon from hombrew? That should automatically deal with the secure value.

I believe exporting the save with JKSM, then reimporting it, should fix the issue.
If not, export the save with JKSM, make a new one (so you have a valid save) then reimport it, as JKSM might use the secure value from the existing save on the system when you import a new one.

Alright I fixed the issue, it just turns out the basic save manager I was using didn't have any checks against this kind of thing. I switched to JKSM and it works fine

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
