you can hardmod or install dsiwarehax to backup your nand/use sighax later on
and of course arm11 userland access

OKay, but even with a hardmod, can I get CFW? What do I need to do to get A9LH without ever backing up my nand or previously having it? All I have is a stock n3ds. That is it.

As I said just now

This is more now for A9LH people that somehow lose it

You can use this for later on when Sighax releases, skipping the need for a hardmod.

But you would need an already hacked 3DS to transfer the hacked DSIWare app..
you've been ninjad:ph34r:

So with sighax will it be possible? Is CFW dead for us measly stock OS users?
:rofl:c'mon I am telling you since a week, its also stated in the OP, SigHax is just an Exploit but more advanced and easier to install then A9LH, forget about arm9loaderhax, 11.3 OFW will need SigHax

Oh so sighax will install CFW? And will it require a hardmod? I am willing to do so if need be. But will it work?

Once Sighax releases, it will be possible to use a plaintext attack to install Sighax and run fake firmware on the 3DS

Lol you replied as I posted that. I have hope now. Hopefully it doesn't let us down lol

Right now it's just to do the waiting game, don't do anything until it releases :P

Okay, let me explain for the people who don't understand:

So basically, when doing homebrew, you are accessing the ARM11 userland. Now, to install anything that relates to sighax/A9LH, you'll need ARM9 access. To do this on 11.3, you must either have a hardmod, or a hacked DSIWare save.

To clarify it to people on 11.3, with SigHax, all you'll need is either a hardmodded console and DSiWareHax OR another 2DS/3DS that already has CFW and DSiWareHax(you'd set everything up on the CFW'd console and system transfer the hax over and initiate them on the OFW console).

I suggest getting a refurbished 2DS from Nintendo for $60, the firmware will be low enough to install A9LH and CFW. Then you can setup DSiWareHax and system transfer it over to your 11.3 console and install SigHax.

Basically SigHax will eliminate the need to downgrade and install A9LH in order to have CFW. This is how I understand it as of right now, someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

Edit: :ninja:'d by a ninja.

No. The hardmod or DSiWarehax will give you NAND read and write access. This means you can restore a previous backup with DOES have arm9 access. Hardmod and DSiWarehax themselves don't give arm9 access.

Nope, you are right.

Whoops. I meant to say that you need ARM11 kernel in order to use it.

I don't think hardmod/DSiWarehax have anything to do with arm11 kernel? That's for installing legit cias and such?
Well, all I know is that NFIRM needs to be in a state where it can be downgraded in order for Sighax to be installed. Now, I'm not saying that to install it, downgrade. I'm saying that it has to be in a level so high that it can be downgraded.

Hardmod is just read and write access to the NAND, it does nothing more. People can get hardmods ahead of time while waiting on sighax to release as well. I can promise you this, once sighax is released, I will have a 2-3 week waiting list again.
