You're needlessly scared, if you follow the guide exactly as is written, it will work properly. I did it a few months ago, read everything carefully, took my time, and it worked flawlessly, was a very quick process and as long as you do exactly as it says it's actually a very simple process as well.
I read about the fact that even moving the CBHC icon around will result in no boot 4U so I am just precautious about that. plus I wanna keep it simple if I want to undo stuff in my Wii U though it does not look likely I need to.

That is just a myth you can move it around put it in a folder ect with no problems the only thing that can fuck up the wiiu is deleting haxchi if you have cold boot set up.

You can move the CBHC icon without issue (mine is placed at the very end of a red folder marked DO NOT TOUCH, at the very end of the menu selection screen, isolated from everything else). Its only if you move it from the system memory to USB or delete it where you can cause a brick. I assure you, you can move the actual icon on the menu selection screen.

OK, I basically misunderstood what I read in this case probably.

Anyway, I am OK with my current setup but thanks for the info. What I know also benefits my friends always.

For sure, I'm not telling you what to do. I just want it to be known that if you do exactly as the guide states, the process will not brick your Wii U.

Yeah cheers, I probably read "do not move the thing" and I thought moving it in main menu and did not even think of the move function in data management.

You are permanently fucked
Hey, you're not forever stuck there. It happened to me yesterday, same stuff going on. I sent my Wii U to Nintendo, telling them that when I boot the Wii U,just after the "Wii U" screen (like 3 secs after) it crashes and I can't even access Home Menu.

If you want to recover your Wii U, do what I did : ask Nintendo to repair your Wii U, telling them it's bricked. DON'T SAY YOU HAVE TRIED INSTALLING HAXCHI/HOMEBREW because they can deny.

Just say you tried to boot up the Wii U and error code popped-up and you kept trying a lot of times and same thing happened.

(Btw, if you they ask you "Is it your first time getting something repaired by us?" answer "Yes, I've never had any problems before.")

So, what you mean is Nintendo fixed a bricked Wii U for you?
Did you had to pay anything?

Nintendo has the magic of MCP recovery, so they can actually boot up even a bricked system to poke around. Several people have had their consoles sent back because they found CBHC or SCT or whatever. Looks like you got lucky!

Any startup can also break it, due to the operating system writing to nand while doing so.

Thus confirming the decades-old fact of "the most secure computer is the one without power"
Ahh, but even mechanical computers break, hard drives degrade, and corrosion takes its toll.

Makes me wonder, what happens if you open it?

You can move around sysmenu, You CAN'T MOVE IT TO USB. That's what FIX94 meant

Tried it, got bootloop while trying to access sysmenu.
Nothing too bad eh?

Good cuz I was going to try it even if it meant breaking the console, curiosity always gets the best of me

You could probably get another Wii U for under $100 since you already have a working gamepad you should be able to get one considerably cheaper, if that's any option. Check Ebay.

Heck get an 8 gb one might be even less who cares 8 vs 32 you should have a decent size usb/sd anyway to play all the games you want. I've always used an 8 gb Wii U.

Here's one for $69.99 + $15 shipping

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Wi...827482?hash=item33c9413b1a:g:osMAAOSwB-1Yr3e9

One for $45 + $9 shipping although he says it does power on but calls it untested buy at your own risk. (but even if the seller says no return, you can still return it. Ebay guarantee. Nothing seller can do if you prove you return it with tracking Ebay will refund you the money)

"That ISO site have the DLC" hint: X Chaos
You need use a fake ticket to use DLC and run Mocha CFW. everytime you will run DLC, you need run first Mocha CFW to apply sig patches.
im not sure how "exactly works" but i'll search some info to help you.

u've got some bad luck with consoles. I actually own 2 wii-u's, both plugged in. my 5.3.2 system, or was 5.3.2, (now 5.5.1) was used for homebrew (loadiine before usb loading was possible), and my main console on 5.5.1 as well has been used for homebrew on both the wii u and vwii. both have crashed testing things before. neither has bricked.

I've not insulted u. if that's what happened, that's what happened. I will admit that there r a number of people here who do insult people who've bricked, usually the wii u and the 3ds, but I'm not one of those people. both r attributed to user error rather than hardware failure which is likely what happened to u.

yes, but it was certainly not homebrew or just bad luck TWICE! and other people having luck at over 800 instances? that kinda luck is not from this world.
so: as long as this is not scientifically cleared, I don't buy it.

No, not homebrew. Since we're back to Kirby's specific case instead of talking hypothetical, 160 1400 is on the hardware side of things.

yeah tbh i crashed my wiiu hunderds of times i was the main tester of fix94 nintendont stuff on wiiu my vwii crashed like 40 times a day while testing stuff and i had to literaly pull the plug hunderds of times and dont get me started on browser hax so manny forced shutdowns i lost count and my wiiu is just fine same with other peoples, my guess is he has some defective part or his wiiu gets some power surges or something or like someone sugested a defective power supply cord that damages stuff.

It doesn't make sense, even if loadiine would crash, it wouldn't brick your console

Bricks happen only if you mess around with the NAND

Loadiine doesn't make anything to the NAND, so I guess that claim is pointless, or maybe you used a corrupted Loadiine or something

You guys just made my point more accurate  It's obviously a hardware problem due from multiple crashes and force shut down. The Wii U isn't strong enough like the Wii. and I probably went over 800 because I had my Wii U since launch date. So your Wii U can still break on the loadiine website. Loadiine still crashes and the crashes itself and power button can break your Wii U. You're defending your precious loadiine awwwww. You guys think Wii U bricking is always the user's mistake. There's even others who broke their Wii U from crashes and force shut down here on GBA temp. if loadiine had no crashes then I wouldn't be in this mess. So it is Homebrew related. Any crash can break your Wii U. So it needs to be mention that a loadiine crash broke one of my Wii U. So people can watch out and avoid crashes. It might not kill their Wii U but it's always good to avoid, But you guys have a crash fetish and you're okay with it.

i think you can unbrick with a hardmod, but you need the console's OTP
the process involves, dumping the nand, decrypting, editing the file that's causing the brick, re-encrypting and reflashing

holy shit, haxchi worked with non-legit ds titles this whole time and nobody knew lol
It seems to only work with certain titles, at first I tried it with Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon but that didn't work so I got Brain Age and it worked perfectly.

How? Wich VC DC game did you use? Wich guide did you previously follow to install haxchi? So many questions, your story doesn't add up.. :/
This is the guide I used: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-setup-custom-firmware-w-sigpatches.446818/
I used a copy of Brain Age that I got off of Wii U usb helper.
However, it would appear that not all pirated ds games work with it because I first tried Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and it didn't work.
