Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has 2017 release date for the Switch

Aaaaand it here, continuing on from where xenoblade chronicles left off. the next game in the series has been announced for the Nintendo switch...and it looks awesome. Monolith soft announced XE2 during the Nintendo switch presentation. also another fact worth mentioning is that the game will pick up where the first left off, instead of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

the game has yet to receive a release date outside of japan, but the official website says it will release in 2017 in japan

Kind of hope this was a sequel to Xenoblade X, but this is fine too. I didn't play the first one, but I will still play this. Maybe they will port the first one to the Switch. Probably looking for a holiday release for everyone, but I can also see Xenoblade for outside Japan hitting 2018 instead.

I'm pretty sure we all know about this already from the switch event. And i'm pretty sure its gonna get a localisation since they put the effort into adding english subs to the trailer.

Hate to bring it to you, but "2017" isn't a date...it's a year. Your title also assumes you're living in Japan, which may not be wrong, but not something I'd assume for this site.


Note: I used to think this sort of stuff was nitpicking. But I've seen people go nuts over reality not living up to rumours that ended up being started because of these sorts of misquotes.

man that footage is so lackluster. just shows you running around no battle footage or nothing. couldn't be any more uninspiring!

I think it is of great importance to state that fucking ACE+Kenji Hiramatsu, Minami Kiyota and Yasunori Mitsuda are back for the soundtrack.
That is clearly seen in the trailer, but anyway it is of great importance that the original music team from Xenoblade Chronicles is coming back, instead of Sawano from Xenoblade X.
I really found the OST of Xenoblade Chronicles far far better than X, and for me that alone is a reason for hype.

If the subs are -already- a thing. They may just release it with subs similar to TMS#FE compared to dubbing it.

I would probably go against 99.9% of this forum because of saying this, but if they happen to dub it again I would prefer the dub being handled by the UK staff that did Xenoblade Wii.
I found their dub higher quality and all around preferable compared to the US Xenoblade X dub.
Also, it seems they know how to mix and not make the voices get lost under the background music.

Oh if they do dub it.. I want the UK staff as well. For some reason the english accented voices just fit.

I sure hope that the text won't be tiny or have audio mix issues like Xenoblade on the Wii U did. Might pre-order XC2 if the price is right.

I hope so, I don't know if it was terrible but it was certainly not my cup of tea.
The original was less confusing, and I actually liked that old concept of solid enemies that you can't walk through.
