What are the requirements to actually use this. OP does not say.
Using TheDeKay's editor: homebrew access (to export your save. You do not need full custom firmware - just a way to get into Homebrew and thus a save exporter), a way to transfer it to your PC, and the editor itself

The save is on the SD card... Wouldn't it be easier to just copy/paste, edit, copy/paste? I get that it's encrypted but isn't there a way around that without homebrew mods/hacks?

nope, there isnt, but if you find a way you could make a mint selling the info tho (and prolly get an instant job at Nintendo fixing such a vulnerability)

Welp I'm screwed lol I don't understand half the crap to mod it cause everyone talks in code/lingo and not straight up about methods. Sucks o.o
it's actually very simple for basic homebrew access. Slap the starter kit on your SD card, put the exploit save on a game like Ocarina of Time and you're set. Full custom firmware is where it gets complicated (and even than that's only for high-end stuff anyway. For just tweaking saves, basic homebrew is enough (note: a few games have an extra level of encryption as of firmware 11.0-11.2. These and these alone will give you trouble with only basic homebrew access)

Too bad the inventory editor never got working .. I'm playing this game again, and tried to hex edit some items myself .. didn't work. Everytime I hex edited what I THOUGHT was the item .. my save broke.

I always kept a back up .. not like I lost anything. But I guess hex editing isn't my thing unless one of you guys wants to post a detailed tutorial :P

I don't have a modded 3ds and since I'm updated it would probably never happen. I was wondering if I could upload my save from my SD card and have a good samaritan mod the save for me with lunares coins.

Can youaccess the Homebrew menu and use JKSV?

If you can i'll give it a go if you upload your save :)

Edit: Why would you need someone else to mod it for you? It's a PC Program :D

So you must be magic right? How are you planning on extracting your save? You can't just pull it off of the SD card
Well if you know where you technically could. However it's encrypted NAND unique. So you couldn't do anything with it.

gotcha. I was thinking somebody could save it on their sd card and do the magic that way. sounds impossible. I might fork over money on a cheap 1st generation 3ds to hopefully mod

you dont need anything special to get to your save on the latest firmware. All you need is a few files put on your SD card (the starter kit) and an entry point (oothax [oot = ocarina of time] works for 11.2 with the 11.1 save images for both 2DS/o3DS and n3DS) to get into 'high level' homebrew (as opposed to having full CFW, which would require a lot more/modding your 3DS).

Hi guys!

I want edit my weapons. I have for the Hex Editor the Item ID and the Effect.
Can anyone explain to me how i use it?
:wacko::wacko:

well if you have all that as well as your save its as easy as just editing the weapon.
for example the weapon lets say the weapon you wanted to edit was the Demonic Dagger ID: 5800
i would search for the dagger in 4 bytes

and get the following results

raotc3.png

after that the item pretty much follow this construct

t03v2f.png

where 797A seems to be the max amount of damage possible

-------edit
also i forgot to mention that the quality of an item is represented as a single byte in front of the effect portion of the weapon with a value from 00 to 04.

example
|Effect 2 |
--000000
