Well, use it for everything else if you want, but here FBI doesn't work so use DevMenu instead or whatever.

sorry if this question has been asked before, but i havent found the answer. im on a mac and using wine to access howlings, but whenever i try to make a cia for my region its stuck on making an icon its kinda annoying because i cant use the application now. (im using wine not winebottler(which means i dont have it compiled as a mac app on my computer im just using wine to run the executable))

As far as I have reader all over this thread, there's no way to properly create a theme pack on mac using Howling Theme Tool.
You will need to run Windows on a virtual machine to archive this.

Why did it take me so long to find this.. fantastic tool. Really easy to use and I can finally flesh out the themes section on the 3ds.

EDIT: To anyone having problems with "Folder Structure" Try putting the folder in your C: folder, it fixed it for me along with having the folder with the 3 folders inside (Oficiales, Custom, and Custom NSFW)

Somehow only one theme out of four is installed when I tried this. I tried removing it and rebuilding the package again but it somehow made it too. Is there a solution?

Which reminds me, can you make multiple theme packages with this?

The program should be allowed work anywhere on the pc, not just in one directory.

Another problem is HTT.ini doesn't automatically set the permanent location of the howling theme program. In other words the file structure error will always pop up no matter what.

I tried the app and I must say you did an awesome job!

However being an FBI user I cannot use it unless I install the devmenu which I don't know how and don't want to risk my 3DS.

Games, saves for games and themes are stored on an SD card. It practically works with both FBI and DevMenu but it's always safe to say DO NOT PRESS THE HOME BUTTON, POWER BUTTON, OR REMOVE THE SD CARD.

I downloaded the newest version of this, but I have a problem. Long ago, I used it already with few themes, and now it doesnt update the themes. I still have the old version, but I even made a new folder for my new themes but they just dont show up in Theme Tool.

I've been having all sorts of problems with this app (1.7.0), each time they're different:

1. The first time I made a themes CIA I only had two, the Simply Shadow custom the and the Shadow The Hedgehog official them. However, when I installed it the icon for the official Shadow theme was upside down, even though it looked normal before making the CIA.
2. The second time, I tried with a 15 themes CIA, only the previous two I mentioned were okay (still upside down icon though), but the rest were showing up as official themes, names and icons in the list, except that when I chose one it did change to a custom theme. And yes, I did rename each theme to the custom name and each folder had its custom icon too.
3. I deleted the theme CIA from my 3DS using DevMenu, and redid everything again. This time I got the correct icons (for most of them) and names. However, like 5 of them share the same up and bottom screen backgrounds and folders, only the music was different.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I ran the Theme check tool each time and got no errors, same for HTT.

EDIT:
I made a 4th test and ended up having the same results as in #3.
For some reason, some themes share the same upper and bottom screen images with a certain theme, and not their specfied ones per folder.

I already tried doing it again but I ended up with the same result. :/
Any suggestions?

are you using gateway? i think i remember reading that gateway doesn't have (or didn't have) the right stuff patched to allow some content, like this.

ok, the problem is gateway. without using a different cfw i don't think there is a way to fix it sorry.

the problem is gateway, you are using gateway. if you boot gateway, you will have the problem.
using a different cia installer, or loading up a homebrew menu wouldn't change it.

no problem

it takes some time, but try to use a9lh. you can still use gateway if you want, but you are also use luma cfw, it is very easy to use both.
very fast to turn on
