There are videos on youtube of how to setup layeredFS for NTR. I believe @DarkFlare69 has a few youtube videos that go over how to set up and use different parts of NTR, including one on layeredFS. As for compiling a custom CIA of it, I don't know how to do that.
But to do either of those, you need CFW, which I assume you have based on the fact that you said you were using the HBLauncher_loader cia to load HBL.

Hblauncher cia 1,2 keeps failing since last update. Fail to download new payload, disays an error http 404. We are few people concerned by this bug. Yellow8 has No clue until now.
BTW : i tried to put on SD the latest otherapp payload with good file name. But launcher displays no color séquence and crashes to homenu and popup messages :'an error has occured"

Try to connect to the internet on your 3ds, wait about 30 seconds on the home menu, then open the Homebrew .cia, and it should automatically get the working payload for you.

Nope, still the same. It acts like I have a unknown firmware. But I'm on latest 11-1-0-34 eur a9lh Luma.
(Édit) Solved! I forgot that I messed with homemenu before for région free. Ver was changed to keep m'y changes. Ninty update skipped m'y custom home menu..
So, I installed latest homemenu cia and hblauncher works like a charm now. On the other side, gw menu is naturally broken.

It's ORAS and SMD that don't work with homebrew apps on 11.1 as they can be used as entrypoints, and so they had ASLR implemented for them. X and Y work fine.

Please help... can someone teach me how to run hbl? I already updated to 11.1.34 and when i try to run hbl it stuck on redscreen... i am noob but im aware that my 3ds is on arm9lh... i already brought it modded or hack whatever called it... plss help tia

You need boot.3dsx on the root of the SD card.

I tried Hans on 4 consoles and it never worked. I launched It by hbl.cia on a9lh. Maybe with other entrypoint..

It should be working if you have A9LH. Which CFW are you using?

HANS will not work properly for many games with custom memory mapping as far as I am aware, which is likely an issue with the way custom memory map XMLs are generated being incorrect, as some games that do have custom memory mapping work with HANS, while others don't.

On that note, @Manurocker95 do you have mmap xmls? This is necessary for launching a very large number of games with the HBL. It is my understanding that this issue is not solved by custom firmware, and so the XMLs are required even with it.

They should be in a folder called mmap, case sensitive, on the root of your SD card. What game is HANS not working for?

EDIT: Are you sure your romfs isn't broken or incomplete?

I tested it on the o3ds with some games like Detective Pikachu or Pokémon Omega Ruby. On the n3DS it doesn't even launch. It always get stuck on red screen. I used Hans on them before so it should work

The red screen most likely means you either don't have a matching XML (again, in a folder called mmap, case sensitive, on the root of your SD card), but might be to do with a missing boot.3dsx, or perhaps your boot.3dsx or HBL cia is extraordinarily out of date. I expect that, in the other cases, your .romfs is broken and you should make it again from scratch.

Hello everyone.
I write because I urgently need help.
After doing the whole procedure/guide reboot, I couldn't start the Homebrew Launcher, with freakyhax method and comes to me on the Nintendo screen, attached.
The file that I put in the SD Card, in addition to those already present, are:

- otherapp.bin
- Freaky.bin
- DCIM with image of the exploit
- Starter Kit

I have a NEW Nintendo 3DS XL, 11.1.0-34E version, I took the Otherapp from Smea for this version, but nothing.

Sorry for the bad English, i'm Italian.

Download the updated one from the website, the newer version is required for 11.1.
