Hey everyone, so I was really hoping I wouldn't have to post here since the instructions were so great! Thanks plailect! But I am having an issue. I have tried to do the downgrade to 9.2 close to 100 times. 95% of the time it gets past the HAX INIT part, then starts to "checking update integrity..." when the nintendo error pops up on the touch screen. This happens almost every single time. I've never got past this point.

Am I doing something wrong? Or have I just had terrible luck up to this point? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Which downgrader are you using? Try going into another HB app then exiting, then trying to downgrade. :)

Hmm. I'm using Plaisysupdater. I've also tried Safesysupdater a few times to see if i'd have better luck with that. I tried going into a different app and downgrading a few times now, and still no luck.

Also, I forgot to mention before I have formatted my 3ds and my sd card. My device is an o3ds running 9.5 at the moment.

It can take many tries, I successfully downgraded 5 systems with 0 error using same guide, bad luck? Maybe..

I've followed the guide until Part 5 and I'm stuck right in the beginning
  1. Reinsert your SD card into your 2.1.0 3DS
Is this SysNAND 2.1.0? The guide says we only have to downgrade RedNAND to 2.1.0. But then, Luma can't boot a 2.1.0 NAND. How am I supposed to get a browser working on 2.1.0?

On part 5,
  1. Copy emergency_SecureInfo_A, emergency_movable.sed, emergency_title.db,emergency_ticket.db, NCSD_header_[o/n]3ds.bin, and firm0firm1.xorpad from the root of your SD card to a safe location on your computer and back them up to multiple locations (such as online file storage); they do not replace NAND backups, but in the event of lost backups could save you from total data loss (after further research and development is completed)
I believe this instruction was added after arm9loaderhax V2 was released. I've setup my a9lh long before v2 was released and just updated it recently, however, those files weren't generated after I updated so I just dumped them manually using D9WIP. The only thing missing from D9WIP was the NCSD_header.bin dump option. Does anybody here know how to dump the file? Thnks in advance.

Yes it's sysNAND 2.1.0. You're already at sysNAND 2.1.0 if you completed the One Click Setup of OTPHelper.

Hello I am having some issues. I have followed this guide up until Part 5 section IV.
Section IV - Copying RedNAND data to SysNAND
  1. Open Hourglass9 from arm9loaderhax by holding Start on boot
  2. Go to "SysNAND Backup/Restore..."
  3. Select "SysNAND Restore"
  4. Confirm and restore from emuNAND_original.bin
  5. Your device should now be able to boot properly once more.
Holding start on boot does nothing. It just stays on a black screen. Anyone have any idea on how I can fix this?

Edit: Disregard my post. I forgot to re-name a file.

I don't understand this part pls help do I need to do this part?
  1. Remove any TWL_FIRM modifications done to the device or PlaiSysUpdater will throw an error
(if you have no idea what this is, don't worry about it; most users will not need to do this)
  2. To do this, use 3DNUS to download the stock TWL_FIRM as a CIA, then install it
  • New 3DS TWL_FIRM Title ID: 0004013820000102
  • Old 3DS / 2DS TWL_FIRM Title ID: 0004013800000102
  1. Launch the Health and Safety Application (which is now FBI)
  2. Navigate to SD then PlaiSysUpdater.cia and press A to install

Help! I followed the guide to a T, yet I still run into a problem. My N3DS got black-screen'd after the last step in Part 4 of the guide:

  1. Reboot into SysNAND, then get into the Homebrew Launcher through the entrypoint of your choice
  2. Open OTPHelper
  3. Select "One Click Setup" and confirm (you do not need to do an extra backup if asked, but you should make sure that you have copied the backup you made earlier to your computer as you will need it later). This can take a while.
(If this fails or gives you an error do NOT continue or you may BRICK; you should follow this troubleshooting guide)
  4. Cross your fingers
  5. Reboot
  6. If you get a black screen, boot with the SD card removed then reinsert when you see the home menu. If this fails, follow this troubleshooting guide

Inserting the SD card after booting didn't help, but I managed to recover from the black screen issue by updating the firmware with Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (10.2.0-20E). Problem is, the black screen returns whenever I try to open the System Settings and none of my Homebrew entrypoints (Freakyhax, SuperMysteryHax) work (browserhax disabled by the update prompt, menuhax no longer present).

Is there anything I can do or is it a permanent brick? I have my NAND backups, but without access to Homebrew I can't even attempt to restore them!
