Meh not worth it then, I don't see what a CFW can offer exept playing games for free
I think missed the point.
  • reboot patches let you play smash bros/monster hunter on Old3DS since they are extended memory games
  • region-free patches so you can play out of region games
  • region/language emulation lets you fake your console region/language to a game, for example if a game crashes due to the wrong ones (this happens!)
  • force New3DS clock speed in all games, to reduce loading times/performance issues/etc
  • for arm9loaderhax: payload chain loading so you don't need an external boot manager
at least three of these can be used for helping "playing games for free", and one more (New3DS clock speed) can "enhance" playing some games like Pokémon.

  • region-free patches so you can play out of region games (Reinand can do that)
  • region/language emulation lets you fake your console region/language to a game, for example if a game crashes due to the wrong ones (this happens!) (Most cia i find do this themselves was able to play Hyrule warriors JP NP)
  • force New3DS clock speed in all games, to reduce loading times/performance issues/etc (Feels like cheating in the same it gives me a gameplay adventage vs others)
  • for arm9loaderhax: payload chain loading so you don't need an external boot manager (no plan to use it)

Ok thanks, well guess it's mostly the same stuff

Thanks for the info
Guess Luma3DS isn't for you. Stick to what you have and be happy, I guess. In your case it might be the same, but they're really not. Those extra features make Luma3DS a lot better and different to a lot of other users who use it as their main CFW.

Anyways, while I know how to use Luma3DS, and sometimes I use it as my default to help noobs troubleshoot, my primary choice and main CFW is Corbenik, but that's just for me, and I really wouldn't go out and say they're mostly the same, in the case of Luma3DS and Corbenik, they're really not.

not to mention I fail to see how clock speed gives you an advantage, in almost any game. in games like Pokémon, it doesn't affect multiplayer at all, it lowers framedrops and makes the game perform better. smash bros already uses this clock speed by default. if you're paranoid it will give you an advantage in other games, disable it when you're going to do that.

Don't forget being able to back up saves and convert physical carts to sd.

I really, really hate losing saves.

Obviously not if your calling it a clone lol

As of today it is a clone because they are too similar, when they will be 100% different then we can call it a fork

as of now Luma3DS is Reinand with 2-3 different features that so it is a clone for now

No there are a lot of diffrent features, the base code was reinand but this has had a lot of changes since then. It's a MUCH BETTER REINAND that's what it is accept it or not I won't feed the troll

Features are not what distinguishes a fork from a clone. The development path is.

Hum, TBF, I don't see what Luma3DS has to do with that. It's done with external software (Uncart, D9, JKSM...).

No, when they'll be 100% different, you'll call that "rebuilt from scratch". I think that regardless of what you say, you don't really understand the meaning of a fork in (open source) software development.

Anyway, you got your answer, so let's not start yet another Custom FirmWar here.
