ok so this is what i think i might do, lemme know if im wrong or its bad idea lol.
Get a sky3ds+, in terms of rom releases do all the same games that come out as CIA also come out as 3DS? would i be missing out on playing new latest games by only playing .3DS?
also in terms of private header and getting banned. how does that actually happen? lets say i try to play a game online for instance Pokemon Y, they would detect and ban my console from nintendo network? or just that game?
What if i play it safe and and use Sky3DS only for games i wont play online, and when i want to play a game online i would just buy the legit cart? or does banning happen just by using sky3ds and being on wifi network? (not actually playing a game online", if so, would i just protect myself by disconnecting from wifi before playing a game with sky3ds?
The bans where from people using public headers on flash carts, not just the sky. Using a private header keeps you safe from that.I've heard of temp bans and permanent bans. most people were temp banned if Nintendo detected it they would stop access to the servers for like 2 weeks on that system I believe but if you have multiple detection's I would imagine that Nintendo would perma ban your console or the NNID for that console. I'm not 100% sure tho on that maybe someone else can chime in on that or locate that old thread that was all about people getting banned with public headers and some private etc etc..
not all games have online only for spot pass etc so just turn off wifi when playing the games and you will be okay. you only need a private header if you choose to do anyhting "online" with "insert game name here" ( for example trading pokemon, playing mario kart 7, monster hunter. anything that connects to servers etc. etc.) if you do any of those in parenthesis you will prob see a ban soon if using a "public header" so that's where the private comes into play
you will be safe to do as you said. you can play offline games with sky and the ones you wish to play online you can buy to save you a headache and asking someone for a private header etc you wont be detected. just remember to always be offline with sky.
sidenote: if it helps i've played my sky with games offline without a private header for over a year now and never received a ban. I even took some games online ( mario kart 7) with a private header of course, and still no ban. people that hate on sky is most likely just caused by fanboy-ism the user learns to like that one thing, and that one thing only and shits on all others and pushes the idea that that way is the only way... I love my sky, and have since day one its done what I needed it too. it is always nice to have the flash cart for the simple plug and play feature. and too have access to 2 exploits OOT/ninjhax which will cost a pretty penny for those retail cart any ways.
I still use my sky from time to time. It makes a great way to have all the exploit games also. Would I buy a plus? Nope. But if I didn't I would buy one before I bought cubic ninja as I would rather support any than the asshat resellers. If you have more than one system a sky is a easy way to use the games on both.

I am picking up a brand new N3DS XL black tomorrow at game stop ( they sold out of refurbished) And i will attempt doing A9LH this weekend! I am currently closely going through the guide and I am up to reading part 4 now and it is all making sense. I have not finished it but so far it all seems doable. And will be a lot easier now that I am going through the guide imagining how each step goes, before I even have my console.I've heard of temp bans and permanent bans. most people were temp banned if Nintendo detected it they would stop access to the servers for like 2 weeks on that system I believe but if you have multiple detection's I would imagine that Nintendo would perma ban your console or the NNID for that console. To do it yes, for day to day use not so much as it won't hold many gamesI found a Sandisk 16GB extreme sd card laying around i had for professional DSLR use, is that big/fast enough for this whole process? says its 45 mb/s speed
Wow just realized N3DS uses MICRO sd not regular, i have a 32GB micro sd laying aroundTo do it yes, for day to day use not so much as it won't hold many games
"tik." files are a way to turn the official eshop into a warez site. Good if you have super stable wifi at home. (I don't, so it's mostly cias.)
Basically, everything SDHC/SDXC comes formatted exFAT - so reformat it with tools that you can get.
The guide is noob friendly and the most dangerous part of it is what you suggested. Downgrading to 9.2 from a higher fw. At that point you have no nand backup so if something goes wrong your system is fucked. All the tools in the a9lh guide have been made with noobs and system safety in mind, that's why there is so many checks. If they can follow a guide to get to 9.2 they can follow the one to get a9lh. Do not forget all the bricks when downgrading to 9.2 first came out. No one cares about them anymore because the kinks got worked out of the tools and they were made to be safer. It's the same with a9lh, in the beginning there was a lot that could fuck up. Now there isn't because tools have been made and tested to make the process safe.I would never use such a thing. It would be trivial for Nintendo to ban people permanently for doing this. They haven't done so yet, but it's too obvious a place for them to start.
And I'd buy the bundle with the Sky because the price of a sky + charger + 32G SD is a lot higher than the difference in the price of the bundle.
SDXC comes exFat, SDHC does not.
Also, guys, please stop suggesting a9lh to newbies, okay? He only actually needs 9.2 with CFW/Menuhax/EmuNAND to do all the pirating he wants. If he still wants a9lh later, after he's learned about the system more and understands what he's doing, well, he needs to go to 9.2 first anyway, so the effort wasn't wasted. Honestly, even just downgrading to 9.2 is a big deal for a newbie.
Yeah, that's what I said. It's great to have as a bonus when you already have a CFW (or when you plan on getting a CFW) but alone without any plans on getting a CFW it's stupid.I still use my sky from time to time. It makes a great way to have all the exploit games also. Would I buy a plus? Nope. But if I didn't I would buy one before I bought cubic ninja as I would rather support any than the asshat resellers. You dummass you have a higher chance of getting banned using sky3ds than a9lh+cfw+cias. Just give up sky3ds is just a messBut can you play ONLINE with A9LH?
@kofman13 With "Sky3DS blue" you can play "Xenoblade Chronicles 3D" and newer games
Thats thr only real and acceptable use of that crappy overpriced messI've use my sky3ds plus to exploit a lot of my friends systems. It's quite useful to get cubic ninja on it. It was actually given to me as a gift in exchange for exploiting my friend's 3ds, as they were too afraid (or lazy) to follow the guides out there. Though the guide is pretty safe if you follow the instructions completely and don't deviate or skip them. If you're more experienced and know what everything does, then yeah you can skip around, but for newbies, just follow the guide.
You can go online with a9lh+cfw without issue, just like you can with *hax+cfw. With cfw you don't need headers. Also with cfw you don't have to worry about new ap checks and having to buy a new flash cart because of them. But can you play ONLINE with A9LH?

Just to make sure, when you say "CFW" does that mean any custom firmware or just CakesFW, because in the updated guide, Cakes is discontinued and Plaitec recommends and uses Luma3DS in the guideYou can go online with a9lh+cfw without issue, just like you can with *hax+cfw. By the way, I would buy this no matter what: Even if you didn't need CN, it sells online for $70!P.S. cubic ninja is $30 at a store by my place
yeah def gonna cop that this weekendBy the way, I would buy this no matter what: Even if you didn't need CN, it sells online for $70!
(Although I would personally hold onto it, because it's useful when helping out other friends (unless you have Ocarina of Time already)
I only really like Anker USB because it's compatible with hardmods... Otherwise, get anything with a fast write speed, so you can transfer large roms/nand backups quickly.yeah def gonna cop that this weekend
