Well, I have followed all applicable instructions in the wiki and from what people suggested here. I posted a list a few posts above.

No matter what I did, always Luma3DS gives a black screen and freezes the system, and always Reinand or Cakes will play the DS flashcard.

From what I see it freezes exactly at the point were the 3DS loads the DS firmware (the point were the screens go off and then starts at DS mode).
Did you downgrade the 3DS to 4.5 at any point in time using Gateway?

I deleted the Luma3DS related files from the SD and rewrote them. Because it's a N3DS, I use FTP to transfer the files.

Now the SD flashcard is working. This is so random..... I mean Luma3DS was working 100% OK before, except the DS flashcard problem.

i am abit late on this, but what is it with the recovey updating?

is it the key combo that you press when powering on the console ? is it only for the n3ds , the so called safer way to update? can it be used to update to the latest sys fw.?

that aside what is the difference of updating the console through settings to the recovery?

This screams "filesystem corruption"

how does a file system corruption occur?

Usually when a write operation is interrupted.
Recovery mode is the same thing as settings, but in some cases one can't boot the system normally and so recovery might be useful

I just have a few questions about button combinations which I cant find explained in the wiki:

-Are these the correct set default functions for these buttons?:-
L=Boot EmuNAND*
B=Boot 2nd EmuNAND*
R=FIRM Selection*
SELECT=Luma Config Menu
(*Actual function can be swapped depending on selected Luma config settings)

-The wiki says "For r_NAME.bin, a_NAME.bin and select_NAME.bin you need to press L+R, L+A and L+SELECT on boot respectively."
I understand R and SELECT already have a have a primary use (Thats why you have to also press L) but what is A being used for? Also why isn't "b_NAME.bin" an available payload option if we hold down L+B?

I have a good question for everyone, I figured out my problem, the other day I formatted my Emunand card and cleaned it with diskpart, decided to make a new emunand. Every time I went to load the new emunand it bricked, is there something special the shipping nand has that a formatted nand doesnt after you create an emunand. I tried the same thing on another N3DS today and to no avail it done the same thing, but i restored the factory shipping nand to the emunand and it worked fine.

regarding a9lh protection in place if recovery operation is carried out
O3DS SAFE_MODE FIRM FIRM0/1 protection

I take it that the a9lh protection only applies to O3DS and not the N3DS ?

I installed 3.4 no problems... Then I used Luma Updater v1.1.2 and updated to Luma 3.5, and now I can't hold start to launch Decrypt9 at startup. Is there an easy fix for this? And I also noticed I don't have an a9lh.cfg file on the root of my SD card for either 2DS... Is one needed, and do I have to create one manually in notepad?

HELP! :'(

Rename def_decrypt9.bin to start_decrypt9.bin
