Aye, presumably that's how I got a retail copy today, huh? Some places break street dates, that isn't a leak.

Linguistic debates are always more fun than playing video games.

It will be released this week. How is that a thread worthy "leak"?

I just wanted to tell people that the game got an early release.
Well if you don't like the use of the word make a thread of your own with the correct meaning or whatever >.>

The store leaked it by (illegally) selling it ahead of street date. How is that not leaking?

Also, yay! I was just about to go check 3dsdb.com if maybe the ROM had been leaked early but now I don't have to :P

Street dates are not laws, you can't illegally sell something because of the street date. However, companies may get mad at you, threaten to not allow them to sell their games, or as far as to sue them if the amount sold ahead of time is a lot. Amazon ships before street to get there on release day but it can arrive early sometimes.

It's not illegal according to the law, but it breaks the terms that the store has agreed to. I didn't mean illegal in the literal sense.
Anyway, that completely wasn't the point of my post at all :P

Edit: Game's pretty fun online, but sometimes I wish there was a chat function. The preset messages do a decent enough job at conveying the message but they're not always enough.

  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip

  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
